Actually, I think someone made a small program to insert backrounds. I'll see if I can locate it.

Well then, looks like its just down to you and me for now Messiaen .

Jeez. This hack seems to be falling down a bit. Meissan is practically doing it solo. (no offence blaster). I think I'll take another shot at TT and see If I can make anything.

Edit: How do I use the terrain resizer tool on your site?

Uhh, the rom already IS extended to 24 MB. The Extender makes the file 3x larger and extends it from 8MB to 24MB.

Me-me: Nice, the patch (which is a modified "Platfom Battlefield") is in the first pages of this thread. I recommend also trying the "scaling behavior" patch. If you want to try a different set of enemies, just drop a PM that I can do the adjustments.

Hey, what about me? I asked how I get the terrain resizer program you made to work.

It didn't get any response at all. It does replace all backgrounds with the chosen background.

Here it is:

(Give Bonifarz credit if used)

It's little hard to understand but at least it works....

See, I KNEW that somebody made one! I just couldn't remeber who.

I think it'd be really convenient to be able to send someone a PM from their user page. It seems a little annoying to go to the main page, go to my inbox (which I'm surprised cannot be accessed from the top settings bar) and type in their username. I just feel it's convenient for me to be able to PM someone when I'm looking at their profile page.

It is, but the drama has caused less important thoughts to be added in.

Speaking of which, how did scrolling get involved with this?

How should I know. And, I never saw a PM feature. When I am looking at someones profile page, I want to be able to click a button on the page saying "send PM to user" or something like that. Plus, it seems to only way to access my message box is through the main page where it says how many messages I have.

Edit: Man I hate IE. I actually have to check my spelling after I type

I've started on my level, and i thaught that this might be a good idea.

I noticed that on your Luigi's Mantion hack and the problem was that I saw it, but hesitated because not only did it just seem like a few coins, but you had it over a cliff...

However, the lone cannon is a GREAT idea! Maybe though, you shoot it at a cloud, or something. Or maybe an ASM hack can be made to "Auto Fire" Mario

Well if we think that 32MB might not be enough after all, then I suggest that we jump to 48MB already, I don't want to have to deal with 3 different sizes of extended ROMs.

One big problem with that. Wouldn't this cause a lot of people who don't read the readme's with hacks to use a patch for a 48MB rom hack on an old 24MB Rom?

Well, I think I get it. You took the location of the data instead of the data itself. Or, something along those lines. I think. (Keep in mind, to me most of these values are gibberish, so a lot of my understanding is actually guesswork. )

Ok. This thread is becoming EXTREMELY off topic. Can we PLEASE get back to discussing New Super Mario Brothers here? Mega mario was banned. The admins say they wont give another chance to him. End of story.

Oy. Everyone seems to misunderstand what I am trying to say. Here is what I am suggesting

1. In the options bar at the top of the page, I would like a button to be added to go to your inbox, OR for you to be able to see the bar for your private messages from any page on the forum.
2. Similar to the way you can send a PM to someone on someones YouTube page, I'd like a button to send that user a message when looking at their profile.

That is it. I don't want the link on the profile name to be redirected somewhere else, I don't want to make any buttons easier to see, or anything like that.

Ok. I never noticed the small button. Also, why does the messages box only show on the main page?

I know the objects aren't there, but in VL-Tone's viewer, it looks a bit more... prerendered. If you combine this veiwer with VL-Tones, it would be perfect! Too bad its coded in a different language.

Meh, do we really need to have a "king" of SM64 hacking?

I work 40-50 hours a week, and any spare time I can devote to SM64 hacking is about fixing/improving TT64, while messiaen has the time to experiment and "expand" SM64 hacking and find cool "new" stuff. It's ok like that, some of the things he finds will be incorporated in TT64 eventually (and he'll get credited for that obviously). We are complementary, it's team work.

I was joking. What do you think the smiley was for? Really, there are 4 big hackers of Mario 64. VL-Tone/Starxxon, messiaen/frauber, yoshiman/yoshielectron, and Dudaw/dudaw12

So, one thing I've noticed about music is that unlike other things in game, everything seems to be done in a single way. For example, some textures are hard coded, some models have no collision, but music seems to be pretty straight forward. Are there any songs that are in different spots, odd pieces of code in specific songs, sounds wedged in to the music section, or anything else odd? Or is music one of those few things that don't have all these annoying tricks to it.

Well, the water flooding is possible, as it's done in the castle grounds, and wet dry world. However, as BigBrain said, Tiny Huge Island is 2 seperate levels.
