| So, are these files usable by windows, or are they special formats? I'd like to know if it'll be simple enough to insert a custom image. |

Really? Cool! How did you switch the animations, how come it's so perfect, and why doesn't it always work so well with the regular code? |

Simple...
But that has nothing to do with this topic...
Anyway, nice job on this treeki. Alot faster then the older ones.
If you really wanted to, get an encrypter program! But anyways, can I see an image of the results of using this program? |

Originally posted by RomanianGirl For the animation of Peach, while adjusting a code to change her hair colour, and testing neighbour values, I was able to tweak her animation slightly (Slightly like in one frame, her arm twitches to the left while clapping her hands) Seems like animation can be editted if you find it with a Hex editor (which will probably do a better job then a line of code) But the problem is which of these values represents what polygon on her, and how do we edit them to get a rotation value we want?
There is a thread on the Peachy 64 project. Can you post an image of the animations there? Id like to see some actual PROOF of it. |

Originally posted by RomanianGirl Well, I was told by Stevoisiak to post my findings here, so I'll begin.
While I was adjusting a Peach hair color changing code (testing neighbour values) I was able to adjust her animation very slightly. During her clap cycle, her right arm twitch to the right (I probably gave it a bad rotation value)
This was only for one line of code, here it is if you wanna give it a try. Load the game, set the "Play as peach" code by James on, then add this code and activate it:
8113823A 5480
This line of code with make her LEFT arm twitch slightly during the clap animation. I luckily was able to screenshot the one frame of animation:
One the left it's the animation changed. As you can see, I probably gave a bad value, as her forearm is strangely rotated backwards. on the right picture, you can see the rest of the animation is unaffected.
I was able to change her entire clap animation, flipping the dress upwards, and giving her arms bad variables and the twitched all over the place. The thing is, her hands still manage to clap when you watch, so of course, my huge line of code was still not getting all of it. I loaded the ending, and Peach was exactly the same, so I do believe her animation was editted.
Relating to this topic: A way to change Martio into Peach would be to find Mario's animation in the ROM, and edit them to be compatible with Peach's polygons. This will prove to be very difficult because:
1. Peach may have more or less polygons than Mario
2. Marios animation data has not been discovered yet
3. There is a lot of animation values that will need to be changed. You would need to know what each hex value does to the Mario polygon, and give it the correct value to make Peach's arm correct. This could be achieved, with our current knowledge, through trial and error.
4. We need to find the variables that load up Mario's model in each level, and change this model to Peach. If this is even possible.
Well, whoever is gonna check into this, I wish you much luck!
(And sorry If I made any grammatical errors or spelling errors... I really don't want to re-read the post sorry)
Interesting. Also, does this mean you CAN change the color of an object other than mario? (Boshi on the roof!) This also reminds me of the updated Yoshi code I posted above that stops yoshi's twitchy leg. |

Just forget about this thread. This kind of hacking is out of your league!

Well, when examining and playing around with the colour change code, yes, if the object is not colored by a texture (For example, the Bob-omb body is a texture, but his feet are polygon yellow. if you find their colour values, you could give him blue or pink feet!)
Boshi on the roof would be totally possible, but I don't know where Yoshi's Polygon color. Here's the code for Peach's hair, it turns it brown:
NTSC:
80132524 0004
8013252C 0004
81132526 0080
8113252E 0078
801344B4 0004
801344BC 0004
811344B6 0080
811344BE 0078
The hair colour code was done by James, so I'm not claiming credit for the color changing.
Yeah, I always wondered why you could only change Mario's colors. I thought about it when I got a giant Yoshi code, which works just like the mario size modifyers. More proof of concept is that if you have the yoshi code on, you wont be a small yoshi by a big yoshi, you become big yoshi! |

I also had a code that made the game crash if you went to the castle grounds the game froze. I deleted the code though. Would you like me to locate the code again? Also, I have two DIFFERENT codes that seem to do the EXACT same thing. They're texture codes. Can someone see what the difference between the codes is?
8133B424 1010
8133B424 9910
The warp doors close quickly code you have there is actually the bounce off walls code. However, it may affect doors directly anyway because the values are so close together. As for the texture codes, these types of codes seem to only affect what texture set is mapped to the level geometry. I'm guessing it changes values in the level script. If you change a value, it will either map another texture set or will map "garbage bytes" (the random colors, sometimes flashing if variable RAM values are mapped). If only minute changes are made to the value, textures are still mapped in blocks and no garbage bytes are seen between textures.
If you find those textures in the ROM it's likely you will see garbage bytes, proving that a stream of data from a starting location to an ending location isn't mapped. Whatever system this code modifies seems to know where to start and stop mapping textures.
Hey rachetfan! Havent seen you in a while. Thanks for explaining, but someone else already explained it in a less technical way.

And not all of Mario is a simple colour, the 'M' on his cap is a texture and so are his sideburns.

Yeah, I know that. I meant stuff OTHER than mario, like yoshi's skin, the 3D Mario, the Super Mario 64 lettering, ect. |

Wait a minute. I think I get it. It can help hackers to focus in on an individual file so they can try to decode it. |

| Hey, messiaen. With those kinds of hacking skills, ever consider making your own game hack for people to play? And if you cant create a creative enough hack, maybe you can be of help to someone else! Also, VL-Tone, I am still wondering about that spiral you created in your vid. Also, I have an idea. Would it be possible to cut out a peice of land, like the floating island in the sky for instance, and turn it into a moveable object? Or maybe that giant spiral you made. |

Sorry if I'm bumping, but I have an idea! Does the japaneese site have PM's? If so, maybe we can use an online translator to send them a message asking thinks like how to use EXE files, or if they can upload their videos to youtube! After all, there are multiple versions of youtube for different languages. I'll post with a link to the japanese youtube in a sec.
Edit: done! http://jp.youtube.com/ |

Though!
That file size is WAY too large.
Why dont you use a PPF Patch? The file size for those is normally about 50kb. Thats a LOT smaller than what you have now.
If you dont know how to create a PPF Patch then see the PPF Patch thread.
EDIT: I'm also starting a new texture project called "Castle Bleck 64". (You can guess how im doing this.) It's not finished yet but heres some screens:
EDIT2: Finally i managed to get Count Bleck on the outside of the castle.

SmashToPieces was doing a hack like this. It was a full level edit. However, his PC just crashed, now the project is gone.
