And I bet if you had more time you would look more into it, and that would be one feature you would work on.
I suggested something like that, and he said trying to switch between Mario and Luigi in-game crashed the game |

Originally posted by messiaen But the reason of this is post is to make a small poll. How do you people feel about me disabling the "Level Select" and the "Moon Jump" code for this hack? The idea behind the two alterations is to avoid people easily cheating the hack. Even though the hack is mostly non-linear, there are a few specific actions that must be done before getting into later levels and which can be easily avoided with Moon Jump. Overall, the hack is harder than the original game, but I'm trying my best to make sure everything is beatable and fair (I think it's natural to have a few difficult stars). I think its perfectly beatable without savestates. Sure there are other cheats that can still be used (by the way, color codes won't work), but the Moon Jump seems to be the most popular (and the most unfair) one.
So, what do you peple think about it? Is this understandable or does this sounds just like an empty rant that should be taken no further?
Hmmmm. Well, disabling codes on a hack... Interesting... Wait! I have an idea! People usually use codes like moon jump to goof off, play with glitches, and have fun, not to cheat, right? Extending on my idea of Beta stuff and behind the scenes areas being unlocked at the end of the game, why not give players the power of moon jump AFTER they beat the game! Also, no color codes? D: Oh well.
P.S. I actually ended up using moon jump a few times in the beta test in the Lethal Lava Land level. I even WITH moon jump, I spent at least 1/4 of my playtime in that level. I actually got 2 game overs in the level. (Which is how I discovered that mario head glitch. ) |

4. Scale objects
5. Built in hex editor
1. Has been asked at least 20 times. It probably wont be added until 8.0
2. You can move the object, but the colision map is part of the level. You may be able to do it with the upcoming model importer.
3. I dont really ever recall lighting in the game. If you mean changing the sky to the kind you see in Boo's castle, that should be in 6.0
4. As far as I know, this is not possible without having a sperate object for each different size (As seen with Meissan's Platform Battlefield)
5. If I recall correctly, someone already suggested this and VL-Tone said he wasn't going to

One thing I always love about MariOZMAV is that the levels look a bit more... natural, as opposed to prerendered

Anyways, the caps and stuff. Does this mean if I simply add to a level an empty object, change it's behavior to wing cap and it's geometry to star, would it stay in the air like a star if you placed it so high. That would be cool if you were aiming for a Galaxy Mario Effect.
Uhhh, not to be a Mod or anything, but this thread was over a year old...

Just for a future refrence, try to avoid deadlines. I remember the wait for Brawl. Luckily, it came out on my Birthday! Anyway, cant wait to import Spiral Mountain from Banjo Kazoie.

Yeah, I should've avoided setting deadlines for TT64 v0.6b...
Well, one thing is with games, when they set a deadline, they have something playable when deadlines are announced. Sure they may not be able to put some things in by the deadline, but they have a releasable game.

Well, one thing is with these games, is that they cost money.
Anyway thank you for your "kind" words Stevoisiak, I'm out of here until I release v0.6b and I won't tell you when I get back, since there's no deadline anymore.
Bye bye.
NO! I mean to say is that look at kid Icurus. We know it is coming, but they havent announced it. They just wait to announce the game. I dont think you ought to go, but I mean to be careful about deadlines. Dont leave. I really mean to say is that they dont announce a game untill they know they are near finished. Dont leave us because of me. I'll just leave now before I screw up even more.

I just realized something. We've been asking for the importer, but how many of us already have an OBJ file ready to insert?

Meissan has not given it out, as it is still very glitchy, and unless you know how to hack it in yourself with complex C coding, you cant get the mod.

What do you mean save the game? Are the changes not being saved? Is the rom corrupt? Do you want to edit the file selection and in-game save feature?

You will only be able to replace the main level geometry. Objects and Mario have animations that wouldn't work with model importation so easilly, especially mario with his complex animations. There is a built in Luigi Model though.

Wouldn't it be cooler if the starting point of a level changed on a per star basis?
As for any actual hacks, it seems like the new fad is to get rid of the Act selection system, which would render a feasible way of implementing variable entrances absent. Still, maybe Missing Stars can do something with this idea. Maybe.
Well, there is already a feature in-game to have 3 sections of one painting warp to different areas...

Already done... Sorta.
Certain stars can only be gathered at night, while others only during the day. The day-night cycle does actually serve a purpose in the game.

Anyway, I worked on a LOT of small details/bugs during the weekend, so I think I will be able to release it on April 30. There are 38 stars in the hack and plenty of cool surprises everywhere .
I know! Even I am still guessing on the "Charging" thing!
Is it that you shoot something when your charged?
