So a few of you probably remember me complaining about a problem I had with my mouth, but I'll refresh your memory..

I had a retaining wire in the back of my bottom row of teeth and one of the metal caps anchoring it to my tooth came loose. I tried to place it back on the tooth and it was misaligned and digging in to my gum. I eventually got so frustrated that I yanked the whole thing out, only to find that the teeth below the metal caps did not look right at all...

Now I have not been to a dentist since I went back to visit Japan....so maybe 8 months? ._. So today I walked up the street to a dentist near my area only to find out it was much worse than I thought. My Japanese dentist who I suspected was an idiot all along had apparently improperly applied a sealant when I was younger years ago which had worn away, and neglected to make note of the inherent tooth decay which apparently had been going on for YEARS. I have eleven surface cavities and the onset of tooth decay on some of my molars, all because of my dentist's neglect.

Brushing better could have prevented this but there was no indication to me that I NEEDED to change my brushing habits when not ever informed that I need to! If I'm lead to believe all is fine in my mouth I'm not going to do anything different.

The whole thing is going to take four visits and cost almost $2000...my uncle is furious because he thinks its my fault and is making me pay for it, and I need that money to register for classes.....luckily the aunt I actually live with (you know the one who actually has some kind of legal guardianship, my respect, and isn't a jerk with unrealistic expectations?) was able to work something out where her dental insurance covers a lot of it.

I have to get fillings, I hate needles, I can't stand pain, and I really hate the Japanese medical system as a whole for all the problems I've had with it in the past. I hope my experiences here are a LITTLE better I really would like to push some kind of malpractice charge on my old dentist but the reality of things is that its just not worth it. The whole thing just has me completely stressed out though.

the whole thing was around $1,850 or so... I could list the exact procedures they are saying has to be done and how much each was supposed to cost but I don't have the little slip of paper on me right now, I'll have to check in the morning. I'm a bit relieved if theres no drilling involved as for the decay, they tell me its minor and that if I maintain a proper brushing regimen that it won't be particularly severe... still might look in to getting that second opinion ~_~ but if insurance is going to take up the bulk of that then it might be in my mouth's best interest.

I hope the pain will be worth it in the long run at least a little pain now might save me from a LOT of pain later.

All hope is not lost, yet!

If you really miss the good ol' days you'll try and get every ending in Wario Land 2. Replay value at its finest right there they really...really don't make platformers like they used to.

To be honest the way they are looking at the law in the UK might be taking it a bit far, however, the situation in Japan really is as bad as it is made out to be. There are a lot of young women simply disappearing, being raped or murdered, and those who are not are molested or harassed even in public and broad daylight. And nothing has ever been really done about it, it has just been a part of the "culture", people say, and look at how everyone looks down upon us for it!

I am honestly for anything to help clean up my country a little bit and turn it back in to a respectable society...oh no, people aren't allowed to draw or look at pictures of things they wouldn't be allowed to see anyway! If it is illegal to see a little girl naked in photographs, why should it be okay to promote the same kind of child exploitation by allowing sexual images to be drawn of one? The main reason child pornography is illegal is because of child exploitation and these kinds of things sort of defeat the purpose. I can understand people's fears of it being taken too far (Evangeleon hentai being cached from 4Chan being illegal, but I'd say thats the least of your worries being cached there ) but in reality it isn't infringing any more free speech than in real pornography...

I highly doubt the law will be actually enforced upon stickfigures, for instance. They really just want to clean up deliberate images of child exploitation. I really doubt we'll see them going around 2ch arresting people drawing ascii penises because the body looks to be of questionable age.

I don't know. Maybe I'm just talking from the view of someone who's been through a good deal of the trash that goes on over there, but...I'd really be for cleaning things up.

I less than three it. Two-digit gas mileage is awesome!

My brother just got a 2000 CR-V which he really seems to like. I might look at getting a Honda if I ever start driving... I'm going with him to pick it up tomorrow, I hear they're huge inside

NO YOU FOOL YOU WRITE THIS KANJI WITH 78 STROKES NOT 77!!

Basically

I know the language pretty well, however I grew up on Osakaben, a lesser used dialect. Mix this with the fact that I do have a minor reading disability, and you get a pretty wacky situation in that channel. Apparently they love and miss me now xD

Also, the reason I was copy-pasta'ing lines in the first place is I don't have the IME, so I need to use character mapper to enter Japanese characters -.-

Actually, you would be surprised. In the same way we don't get confused with the common hirigana and katakana combinations, there are some kanji that even people like my mother cannot read or immediately identify. It really is an inefficient language imho...

Don't forget the time the government tried to retcon kanji and replace it with Korean hangul, claiming it was "original ancient Japanese characters" before Chinese influence.

Hillarity ensued when Korea called them out on it.

Wow, I don't think I ever want to find out how the average Japanese teen writes text messages and talks on the internet.

They use the Japanese equivalent of AOL speak. bassically a bunch of incomplete thoughts that seem to mean something to them... Whenever Erika goes asfsdfasdfsdf in 2ch IRC, you'll know what's up...

Yeeeeeah. My brain melted thrice at the Japanes equivalent of "hOW R U 2DY" speak (the worst was when they mix/disregard character sets that normally you just wouldnt/couldnt do but i guess to be lazy they think typing everything in katakana is TRENDY)

Also the three systems of writing are Hirigana (main), Katakana (foreign/adopted words), and Kanji (Chinese characters, can represent multiple hirigana/entire words/concepts)

Yah, there were no words during any of the cutscenes in that game but that made it funny, because of the antics of the characters alone. This is a game I will consider picking up for sure
