So my Desktop computer, which is a Dell...and kind of a old Dell, I think, 5+ years maybe. It came with XP SP1 if that is a indication Anyway one day the fan started going bananas. Fluctuating really fast and loud to normal. Well now it just goes really fast and REALLY loud. And, I do not know what it is. I don't beileve anything is using up any more memory than usual...and in fact it does this the second you turn the computer on.
I tried to clean all of the dust out with compressed air but even that did not seem to make a bit of difference. The fan is still iner--making noises. It's just going really fast and loud. It has me slightly concerned, but more than anything ANNOYED because it is so loud and I have to put my music louder to hear over it and that is annoying for everyone else involved, trust me. Plus there's the whole fact that it...should not do that ._. suggestions? Any idea what might be wrong? It is totally clean of viruses or other weird things too, I checked. |

| Those randomly named DLLs in system32 sound a lot like a Virtumonde virus to me...Spybot and Adaware should be able to remove most of them, as should a quick-fix in HJT. AVG or Pandascan can also sometimes remove them. If all else fails use a heavy-duty cleaner like Vundofix (likely will not work if you have the rootkit version) Or Combo Fix (finds the rootkit version as well as any other nasties you might not even know or think you have, HIGHLY recomended on a lot of tech forums)
I would personally suggest either SpyBot or Combofix, since Spybot gets things Adaware sometimes does not and Combo Fix is garunteed to get rid of most nasty things generally. Just make sure you are careful with it. It recomends having the Windows Recovery Console installed but if you make a restore point and know what you're doing...you shouldn't even need that. |

| There's an editor for the SNES Harvest Moon, but it is made for Windows I guess. So...the answer is no ._. |

Cool plate I do not drive however. Never even got my license ._. but I might do it very soon. Room mate wants to get us car. Might help her next semester when I see her again. Do not know if I will even drive it. I do not have the reason/need to and then I would probably be terrible because I am a asian and a woman driver. (you have to laugh at it really) |

All of my systems work okay...my Super Famicom and 2nd gen SNES both work like new, I guess I always just take good care of things ._. Famicom works pretty okay as well... The only system of mine that is going is the N64, and, I think it has everything to do with someone breaking off the heat vent slots on the side and bottom. Crap probably worked its way in to it I was not pleased about that, at all.. the thing takes several attempts to turn on and sometimes erases the controller pack in the process if I'm not careful (third party though, so, maybe that is why). Poor thing might just be about to die. I loved the N64 too I guess its time to shop around for another ![]() |

| Plenty of people who are 30+ use forums however and are not pathetic. What is pathetic are people who make value judgments about others based on their age or living situation. A lot of my family lives together and for a while my mother DID still live with her mother (taking care of her). And she posts on forums (2ch). So you point is moot at best ._. |

| It looks like it is the fan, after all. The CPU fan, I mean, not the PSU thank goodness...
Unplugged it like you suggested and it made 95% less noise than usual. So, with this in mind.... I am going to get a new fan D: |

It was this one ("Performance" brand). I had the official Nintendo brand packs when I was younger and they never gave me a lot of troubles unlike these ones. But these are the only ones I can find any more. |

I cook a mean set of burgers and ribs....not to mention a good steak now and then. I know grilling is kind of a "man" thing but I love cooking in all its forms and grilling is actually pretty fun
Also surprised no one mentioned porkchops. Come on guys ![]() |
