Hi, everyone. Wow, my first thread! Exciting
Now, as you may know, I set up a page for the Windows game Astrobatics.
However, since I've been gone, I discovered a regional difference in the game.
In the English version of the game, several sound effects, such as lasers, are non-existent.
The sound effects go unused in the game's files.
However, the original Russian version of the game DOES use them, as you can see here.

Does anyone know where I might be able to find a Russian version of the game to check for more differences?
Could it also be possible that the Russian names of the missions mean something different to the English versions when translated?
Any help will be much appreciated.

Alternatively, try changing the language settings on your computer (if possible) to see if the game changes language.
It's possible there are naming differences, although you can use Google Translate to see if any of them are different yourself.
Thanks for the advice
However, the first link you provided gives me a 404. Is there something wrong with it?
I won't be able to buy the Russian version because I live in the UK. |

More like if you forget to input "http://" in a URL link, the forum interprets this as an internal link.
Ah, I see. Thanks for that fix. The problem is, when I download the demo from that website, it's in English. I've also been thinking about scanning the levels. There must be software out there that supports the filetypes that the game uses.
I have a feeling that the levels are stored in the Astrobatics.plt file. Now I need to find software that supports that filetype. There's also "Astrobatics.dat", and a TPL file "Astrobatics". The .dat file contains the game's graphics. |
