My OSes are literally always changing, so here's an update.
Laptop: Windows XP and Lubuntu (separate hard drives, have to swap em out) Desktop #1: Windows 95 and 9front Desktop #2: Lubuntu (also a dead copy of Windows XP) Desktop #3: Windows XP Desktop #4: Windows XP & *cough*Windows 7 (again have to swap out the hard drives, XP is more in use though) Raspberry Pi: Unsuprisingly, Lubuntu. Thinking of putting 9front on it, if not that then just standard Plan 9. Random Floppy Disk: MEOS (one of those "Micro OSes") All are on actual hardware, never cared much for VM's ____________________ ![]() |

Currently listening to Carbon Base Lifeforms - Interloper. It's a pretty rad album. The last track, Polyrytmi, was even featured on Echoes. ____________________ ![]() |

I make puns all the time. Usually they are terrible.
#1 It was the case-adilla of the stolen Mexican food. The the thieves stole an enchi-lotta food. The police walked up to thief and said "That's nacho-cheese. It's between sesame and you now." #2 What did the person say who didn't like Japanese food? #3 What is a computer's favorite snack? #4 Your friend has never seen a C64. You show them one, but play the worst game every released for it. Your friend now thinks that the C64 is terrible. You tell them "No, the C64 is actually pretty rad. Perhaps we got off on the wrong side." (HAHA floppy disk/cassette tape joke) #5 A local library has a small and cheap hotel in the back. You ask for a room, but the librarian says #6 Where does a TV go on a vacation? #7 What did the ottoman say to the sofa? #8 I'm a natural at music puns, though most of them are flat. At least I have a sharp mind. On second thought, I'm musick of telling these puns. Let's band together and stop this madness! I would put more, but can't remember any others. ____________________ ![]() |

I got some cool stuff from a thrift store loot a while ago. All of my good digital cameras are dead (or missing), so have some pictures from my crappiest camera.
Got an extra 3 1/2" floppy drive, a rad film camera, and a copy of Publisher 98 to add to my junk pile. All of this only cost ~$1.50
Also got this old Poweredge for $6. Yet another PIV to add to my collection. Didn't have any RAM or a working video card, but I happened to have spare of both sitting around. I installed Bodhi Linux on it and it works quite well! ____________________ ![]() |

Whew, I just took one in absolute darkness (no lights from under the door), and man was that wicked and stange. Even though there were no lights, it felt like I could see a just a little bit. Technically though there was a tiny LED on my laptop from it charging, but it was insignificant and slightly covered up. When I turned on the lights it was almost like I snapped back to reality. ____________________ ![]() |

Went to a thrift store the other day, and got a "new" motherboard from around 2005 for $5. It's Athlon64 compatible, and I'm planning on using it to build my first 64 bit computer
I also stumbled across a very strange full-size ISA card, and upon looking it up figured out that is was a very clunky 5250 emulator, so now I can connect to a very obscure, old, and expensive computer! Lastly I got a new USB SD card reader, since every previous one has failed me.... ____________________ ![]() |
