I have a Photobucket account for permanent storage of things, even though it has a slew of problems (thumbnails are the biggest ones, as I have to manually fix them or the link will target the home page instead of the image). Then, the ads. The one time ads lead to malware and/or attempted to mimic the Windows interface (this was particularly hilarious, even moreso than with other crappy ads) I was so baffled I posted about this on a thread. I now use both AdBlock Edge and NoScript to prevent all this mess, with few exceptions (here and tcrf where it's disabled).
I previously used imgh.us to store the drunk mood avatard, but since I now use the Schezo avatar they were axed. You can name the image youself and it's name is stored as-is on the server, but the interface was so bad I've only used it once.
I mostly use imgur for convenience, even though it kills image after six months of no clicks.
A good trick for that is to occasionally use a proxy to view the image and it shouldn't delete.
I found also a rant about image hosting sites, too (why they send so much useless garbage when retrieving and uploading images, and other such things). But I won't post it here.
PhotoBucket is probably good, maybe. Also, it says 'Zip Code' so pb is useless in the UK, I don't know.
Allprog is unblocked at school so I can upload images anytime and view them anytime, useful when I made a forum before I knew what hosting was.
