Retrying does not work either.

Does it work for anyone else?

VisualEditor has been broken for me ever since it was first implemented. This appears to be a common error:

I used to have a web browser extension for downloading some YouTube videos, but it got broken after a while. (like many extensions do)

And since we're on the topic of downloaders, Twitch VoD Downloader is a good one for downloading Twitch videos. I tested it and so far it worked well, but the audio track had a slight delay which I had to fix using Avidemux (probably the only time I'll need to use it for anything). It might bother you with something about "authenticating your Twitch account", but it's not necessary. Just put a Twitch video link in it and download it. Simple as that. It even seems to have options to download a specific part of a stream but I haven't tested that yet.

Another thing is that, as of late I've been using Floe IRC instead of HexChat. It works quite well and has a nice interface that most other IRC clients don't have. Unfortunately it seems like it's a dead project (no updates since 2012).

My new phone has yet to update to Android 5, in fact I'm worried it ever will update.

Also, did I ever post this here? It's old, but not much has been changed since then either way! The only thing that's different is that Opera's icon changed.

On April 2nd I was thinking if I actually missed the April Fools prank, but then I realized that nothing happened, and that was the prank.

...

I must say, that was a good one!

28 years old...divide it by seven and you get 13.

BrawlBRSTMs already got shot down two times, eventually it will happen to GilvaSunner too.

And also, the "GiivaSunner" channel was apparently terminated due to YouTube's violation of Terms of Service. I guess YouTube actually realised that those people were copying another person's YouTube channel for once.

Ah, I was wondering why I was getting a very outdated MySQL error page. (it had an image linking to xkeeper.shacknet.nu:5 ) That explains it.

Very neat indeed! It actually is working way better than I thought it would. So far the only thing my browser is blocking is this random stylesheet in the site header, which I'm sure isn't even used at this point:

<link rel="stylesheet" href="http://xkeeper.net/img/layouts/fonts/stylesheet.css" type="text/css">

Anything else works fine. It's complaining about the images being loaded too but those are minor warnings (and completely inevitable because there's no way to encode every single image in here under HTTPS, just no).

If you want to test the HTTPS padlock thingy: https://jul.rustedlogic.net/hex.php?scheme=21

EDIT: Doesn't work with the default theme but it works if you have Pinstripe Blue, so I added it to the URL.

OK, one more little problem. The default theme's background goes to http://xkeeper.net/img/starsbg.png, which isn't HTTPS. Since it's only an image, the browser doesn't complain about it, but it's enough to cause the green padlock thingy to go away. If there's ever a need for that to be displayed, then all of the images must also be provided over HTTPS.

Night: https://jul.rustedlogic.net/hex.php?scheme=0
Pinstripe Blue: https://jul.rustedlogic.net/hex.php?scheme=21

Night is the only theme that does that. I tested it. I even found the seizure theme on the way there.

I knew that there were some secret forums, but honestly I figured that most important discussion about the site and about the users wouldn't go there either way. I thought of it as a small place for a small group of people to talk about whatever, something that sometimes people need. Like chatting in private with your best buds. I never thought, and I still don't think that it would be used in a damaging way to the overall community, as long as it never really got to the point of "elites" StapleButter said below, wait that's not the right direction above.

I'm sorry, like, it's difficult for me to explain, but even though I knew of this "secret group", I knew that it probably wasn't anything mindblowing or anything bad or y'know something of the sort.

Posted on 04-24-16 09:07:29 PM, in Internet interconnectivity and relationships Link
It's kinda like you said in one of your posts in that tilde.town website. It's kinda reliving the era of the internet were there few people online. Nowadays, even though there's more technology, there's also way more communities, peoples, opinions, etc. etc. etc. on the internet, we kinda lose value of the whole thing. It's like economy, when you have too much of something, the prices tend to go down. When you have so many people on the internet, we kinda forget the fact that we're talking to another human being on the other side of the screen just like anyone else you know from school, work, family, etc. We forget the value of people...and yes it's something that can happen.

I don't really know, using social networks like Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, you'd feel more alone because discussion isn't valued in these places. There's no need for you to know the other person, like in real life. I think this is one of the reasons why people are so mean and rude online. In those places, what is valued is the new interesting stuff: the news, the events. I dunno.

Relevant quote:
Originally posted by Eleanor Roosevelt (not on Jul)
Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people.

It's this that bothers me. While social media focuses on the events and even more so the people, the ideas and discussion, the immersion of getting to talk to someone and actually feel like you're talking to a human being goes away.

That's what I think. Why social media makes people feel more lonely. Either that or they become complete attention-whores.

But I guess I don't feel as lonely becuase I found somewhere to be on the internet. This neighbourhood, TCRF, SMWCentral, Jul, and also the LP community that surrounds a group of people known as TheRunawayGuys. I found somewhere to be on the internet, where it actually feels less lonely and more human.

Maybe I'm just weird, but I enjoy being here and getting to talk about whatever much more than most other places on the internet. I don't want to turn this into a sad story, but I didn't really have a place to be in anywhere else. Even though I got along with my family, I got disconnected quickly due to a difference in interests (me being more introverted and more towards gaming, yeah) and I kinda got disconnected from real-life for a while. I'm glad to have found the communities that I did, and for that reason alone, I think I feel less disconnected now and less lonely. Much less than before.

I don't even know at this point, I don't really think I know what I'm writing anymore. I'm sorry. Feel free to ignore this thing...it's weird.

Posted on 04-24-16 09:47:51 PM, in So what boards/communities are you into? Link
  • Jul (of course)
  • TCRF (main community I guess?)
  • Kuribo64 (a little bit active)
  • SMWCentral - Just there for the community, more or less.
  • TheRunawayGuys (and friends?) - Just a group of (good) LP-ers with a good community surrounding them.
  • a few other random YouTube channels - No need to specify.

Not part of anymore (space added after first letter):
  • O rigami64 - Way more dull than I thought.
  • M ineplex - Lesson learned: Popular Minecraft communities generally suck. :/

I thought about joining Sonic Retro and Kafuka, but ultimately I decided it wouldn't be worth it.
