Well, back on topic, I remember that I read somewhere that the amount of posts for a thread to be considered a hot thread was lowered a while back (probably before I joined). I was wondering if the same was done with the Syndromes or if they just stayed the same forever.

Oh, this is actually a good one for this thread: I don't enjoy the Smash Bros. games as much as most people do. Sure, they're fun and they're good games, but I would prefer playing other games.

I also just remembered that, even though I enjoyed playing a bit of the Donkey Kong Country SNES games, I would never go back and play those again, but I don't really know why. Even though I didn't think about this back then, now I consider Returns to be better than the original trilogy, but I don't know if that's a popular opinion or not.

I wonder what kind of havoc it would cause to DHCP internet connections...y'know, since the IP address will always change. In theory, you could end blocking an entire ISP with just that, and I believe zaphod (creator of ZB Block) actually did that to various ISPs due to massive spamming, meaning that any legitimate user would also get blocked.

I noticed some of the layouts that had those weird &insertstuffhere& things that gets converted to numbers/text got broken.

Other than that, I guess the update was a success! I already implemented a special character in my signature to see if it would work, and it does.

UTF-8 test: ♫♣¾¶Üµ§ It works.

I tested this a little bit more by previewing a thread and a poll to see if anything is glitchy. The thread preview worked right. The poll preview showed a few weird issues. By the way, I typed this into all text fields: Hello. I'm tryin' my best 'cause "test"test&test)

I'm having Déjà vu.

Plus, we managed to crash the server for a little while. That was certainly interesting...and also that means those cows in the picture are now mostly dead. RIP.

I finished redecorating Spawner 1, although I might do a few more things later. It definetily took longer than it should've, but either way, Real-Life™ kept me too busy for the past weeks. The changes in the room were done by me, but the spawner itself and the sorting system were remade by Delpolo.

Here's a few screenshots:

So, Windows 10 was released a month or so ago along with a free upgrade for those who had Windows 7 or Windows 8. I've heard quite a bit of things about it on the internet, and since it's been a while and it seems like a lots of bugs have been fixed already, I would like to hear everyone's opinions about Windows 10. Did you install it? If you did, or even if you didn't, what is your opinion on it so far? Do you think it will be the next great Windows version like 7, or do you think Microsoft shot themselves in the foot again?

As for me, I think Windows 10 will probably be a very good operational system, it could be the next great OS from Microsoft. It certainly will replace Windows 8, but I think it'll be more difficult for Microsoft to attract people who use 7 to it. I'm preparing my computer for the upgrade to 10 as I still have to try it (which will be someday in the future, before the end of the year) but I really really like Windows 7 (I still prefer Aero over Metro UI). I might stick with 10 if I end up liking it, but chances are I'll revert back to 7 right afterwards.

Edit: Dangit, that Windows icon worked on the preview thing. Could somebody replace it with this one?

I remember those privacy problems, but from what I've saw most of those can simply be disabled and the ones that can't be disabled are probably an exaggeration from the community (not that I don't care about it, privacy should be a big concern). I still don't like that those options come enabled by default.

Oh, and I forgot that some programs might stop working. That will probably be an issue.

Did you completely miss the fact that you got 4000 posts or something or do you simply not care? Hm, I played Minish Cap once and I never noticed that. I guess I should play it a little more.

Plus, I wonder if anyone has played the BS-X Zelda (translated as BS-X Zelda Ancient Stone Tablets) on emulators, of course, no one can play it on the Satellaview anymore. I feel like it was way more difficult than LttP, because not only everything changed locations, they put a time limit too. The full game cannot take more than around 3 hours to beat. Actually, I might try playing it again sometime soon.

Mario Party 3 - Stardust Battle
This is the first Mario Party final boss if I remember correctly. This theme isn't too special, but since it's a fight against the supposedly invincible Millenium Star, it really creates a good atmosphere.

Mario Party 1 - Final Board (Eternal Star)
This is the final board of Mario Party 1 where you have to go to space and reunite the stars to defeat Bowser (traditional Mario story at this point). What makes this theme stand out for me is that it's very adventure-type I think. It makes you feel like this is it, this is the quest that will finally end it. Besides, the board is on space. Quite a bit of story and atmosphere for a Mario Party game, eh?

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Justice for All: Search - Core
Without spoiling anything, this theme plays the exact time the real murderer is revealed on Case 4. It's amazing timing to say the least and it definetily contributes to the atmosphere.

More things! Spawner 1's reconstruction is officially done, so it's time to move on to other projects! I saw that the cow and pig farms near spawn were causing a lot of problems, also this:
MM200 plans on making an animal farm in the savannah north of the top-right desert, just off the map.
So I decided to replace those original farms at spawn with something new: a tree farm with all types of trees except Dark Oak which might be a little difficult to place there. Here it is:

I also took the opportunity to build a path to that hotel on the water. The original cow farm still is in the middle of the tree farm, I know, but I don't want to kill those yet. It's not complete anyway, there's still a few things to be changed here and there, but it's something. Other than that, everyone on the server is building something too. It's nice to see some activity back.

That's something that they'll probably not change. The (rumored) reason that Microsoft is giving free updates to Windows 10 is to get everyone on the same platform. The next step would be making everyone use the same revision of Windows, which is where Windows Update kicks in. It sucks that it's like this, but maybe they'll fix it later. We all know that Microsoft doesn't generally fix things very quickly, but we can hope.

For right now, if I read correctly, you can defer updates for a little while (not permanently) and uninstall updates once they're installed (which still is problematic if the update glitches Windows too badly).

I feel like adding a few more I use.

Open Broadcaster Software - Should be obvious, really. It can stream and record videos to YouTube, Twitch, Hitbox and more. It's free and easy to use, and even easy on the computer. Available for Windows, with a different version for other systems.

CDBurnerXP - Already mentioned. It's a good and easy to use CD/DVD/BD burning tool. It has a bunch of features Nero has too. Windows only. Although people also recommend ImgBurn, I think that it would only be useful for people who want a ton of options on CD burning. I don't like ImgBurn for some reason, I think it has a very weird design.

MagicDisc - Talking about tools with weird UIs, here's MagicISO! It works very well for a simple program. Never had any issues with it so far (I had a ton of issues with Nero before, where XP would simply stop working because of the thing) and the simple, taskbar-only interface makes it kind of neat too. Windows only. EDIT: I forgot to talk about what it does. Go me! Basically, it can mount ISO files in virtual CD/DVD drives.

Midori Web Browser - If you ever need a lightweight browser for any reason, this is the one. It has a occasional glitch here or there, but it's extremely easy on the CPU (besides, it's still in beta much like OBS). It can support a great amount of HTML5 and CSS3, can support Flash and has a bunch of features popular browsers have. It's available for Windows and Linux.

Tagaini Jisho - A good tool for learning Japanese, although I only use it for basic "translations", a friend who is learning Japanese told me that it helps him a lot. Thanks to this software I was able to play Densha de GO!, so I think it works very well. Available for Windows, OS X and Linux.

The Mario Golf 64 soundtrack.

I played this game so much, it's one of my favorites from the N64. It also has a very relaxing soundtrack. I could listen to this for an entire day. Favorites (in no particular order): Toad Tournament, Create a Character, Koopa Cup, Koopa Park...you know what? This will go on for a while, so let's just say the entire soundtrack is my favorite. There we go.

Wait, is the server going to be updated to 1.9 when it comes out?

Er, either way, there's this area that Lila was working on the server, it's a laboratory that has all sorts of technological/futuristic rooms. It's still under construction, but it already has some things. Here's a few images:

And yes, that is all for now, but it's a very interesting build, with Quartz and Wool everywhere. I wonder what is going to be built in the next rooms.

Also, the tree farm has a spot for Dark Oak/Big Jungle trees now, which means that there's a spot for every single tree type in there, which also means the tree farm is done. That was quick.
