Alright...some old and new screens of my second Yoshi's Island hack, SMW2+2. It's still very much alive and I'm currently working on 4-3.

I had originally hoped for a full release of this by the end of the year, but that's not looking possible now. I now have a full-time job, so that constrains my time to work on this. I still have very much interest in working on it, so it'll get done. Currently I anticipate a release for February or March of 2008.

Ah...it's nice to see this hack still in progress .

A couple of things I'd recommend. I wouldn't really suggest piling red coins on top of regular coins, it just looks weird. You can just put red coins by themselves. I'd also suggest changing the BG/FG colors in this level, as it still looks identical to the original 2-1.

Other than that, glad to see you're still working on this. Keep it up.

Well...I'm still working on my second Yoshi's Island hack, SMW2+2. So far, I think it's coming along quite nicely, and I'm even more satisfied than I was with my first YI hack. But you can also be the judge of that, as I've included the latest demo for your pleasure.

Currently, I am working on 4-3, so I'm moving along. Unfortunately, I don't think this will be finished by the end of the year considering I now have a full-time job, but I'm shooting for a release in February or March of 2008. Here are some old and new screens...

And on to the demo. This was the last demo I released, which was the World 2 demo. Therefore, it contains 1-1 through 3-1 (yes 3-1, that's an added bonus ). Plus, the Extra levels are done as well, so you can enjoy those.

Yup, and please remember, patch it to version 1.0 (U) of the Yoshi's Island ROM. Other versions will not work. If it doesn't work even with the right version, try downloading it from another site. Typically when I make YI hack release threads, the first 5-6 replies are "I can't get it to work...", so I'm hoping to avoid it this time. If you still have trouble, feel free to PM me and I can help in any way I can.

Yes...this hack will have a better balance of difficulty, definitely. Albeit, still a bigger challenge than the original, but nothing too crazy .

This is still the hack I've been working on since February, it isn't all that new. Didn't you test the first world, IIRC? That could be why Bryce the Boo sounds familiar .

Hmm...first demo had 1-1 through Extra 1. Second demo had 1-1 through 3-1, which is the latest one, and the one I posted here.

Let's see now...

On the first incarnation of Acmlm, I was goldenyoshi2000. That name was basically a mashup of a bunch of things. I liked Yoshi, so that made the cut. Golden just sounded so luxurious and superior, so I added that on to the beginning. And for some crazy reason, back then I thought it was cool to suffix stuff with some thousand number, so 2000 got added to the end. So basically, that's how that mess of a name came about .

On the second incarnation, I thought it was time to clean it up a bit. The 2000 had to go, plus I thought it'd be right to give the words proper uppercase letters and put a space between the two words, so...ta-dah...Golden Yoshi, the name you are all enjoying now .

I was however, temporarily Trinity on the third incarnation. Since it was my third time registering, I thought it was a badass username, but quickly got bored with it :\. Meh.

It's sometimes hard to take the perfect screen. You really got to time it right. Anyway, I just started this level but it was due time for another update . Don't worry, there will be plenty more excitement in these levels than the screens will portray . Muah-hah-hah-hah-hah .

Ah...that new level looks hella fun...S.N.N. This is definitely going to be one of my favorite SMW hacks .

Just one glitch I found in the video, sorry if you noticed it before. The note blocks have the improper "bounce" graphics. That can be easily fixed by altering the sprite tileset. That's all, everything else is looking mighty fine.

Uh..something like...

Yep BooUrns, you're right. I will now have Secret levels in my hack, thanks to help from Mattrizzle. And thanks to S.N.N. for the icon rip.

Yeah, but anyway, since I won't have enough room for all those additional levels, I'm taking out World 6, and then having an Extra and Secret unlockable level per world. That'll give an extra incentive to score 100 on the entire world, I suppose.

Yeah, SMA3 had an extra "Secret" level in each world unlockable by just beating the game that weren't present in the SNES version of YI. Go get it!

Yeah...I was originally thinking of doing a Pit Of 100 Trials, in true Paper Mario fashion, but decided not to, as that would probably be very excessive and just drag on. So, 50 floors should be enough to keep you occupied for a while .
