You can embed YouTube videos by using the tag [youtube](video id)[/youtube].

For example, given the YouTube video URL "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZAl0lYZhO4" or "https://youtu.be/gZAl0lYZhO4" , you can generate the embed by writing: [youtube]gZAl0lYZhO4[/youtube]

When BBCode is rendered, it shows up as this:



This is mentioned in the FAQ, alongside a few other types of BBCode.



As for other websites... it isn't supported. You can only embed videos from YouTube.

There's no way to ping other users through the board, I'm afraid.

The closest way I know is to connect to the Jul Discord or IRC channel and ping other users from there, but it kind of defeats the point and some users go by different nicknames on Discord.

Well, there's also the Private Messages functionality, since users do get notified on every page if there are any unread PMs. As the name suggests though, it's private so it may also defeat the point.

This is the only place this big fruit is in Wario Land, and it's in the first level by ID to boot:



It falls from the sky, you can stand on it (or be bumped off when it moves towards you) and it ends up in a bed of spikes, which destroys it. This never appears ever again.



There's evidence in the coding that they wanted to do more with it:
- When it reaches a solid wall, which never happens due to the bed of spikes, it just stops and can be picked up. It doesn't sound like much, but that's implemented as an unique actor (ie: the code pointer for the actor gets replaced).
- The fruit was also intended to stop when something is thrown at it, but the collision type that it uses specifically ignores anything that is thrown at it.
- There's also code which handles the fruit falling while underwater, which also never happens in-game. Fittingly, it makes it drop at the slow speed of 1px/frame, though it may be the result of copy/pasted code being actually used in other copies. For example, the spikeball which does fall underwater has extremely similar code, though that kills itself once it reaches a solid wall.

The two new 10 Pro computers are finally here. I received the two big cardboard boxes at work, and brought them home.
However, I don't have new monitors yet and there are no spares left at home, which, while it isn't a problem for my parent's computer (the old machine was a desktop, so I can reuse the same CRT for now), it is for mine since I used a laptop.

We're getting to the finish line though, having received the computers right after the 10th anniversary of the Windows 7 Desktop that's getting replaced, which was bought on Aug 10 2011.

Posting from the same exact install of Windows 7 I've been using for 10 years since early 2011, except running as a Virtual Machine on the new Windows 10 PC..
I honestly can't quite believe that this whole thing worked, and that the VMWare tools installed just fine on it.

The whole process was:
- Running disk2vhd on the laptop to generate the vhdx file for the VM on an external hard drive
- Waiting hours to copy and backup the VHDX file from the external hard drive to the new hard drive
- Realizing that VMWare Workstation can't use the VHDX file even though it supposedly supports VHDX files.
- Running Starwind's VHDX to VMDK converter
- Backing up the VMDX just in case
- Remembering to create a VM with an existing SATA virtual disk. VMWare defaults to SCSI, which isn't applicable for the virtual disk.

It isn't exactly the same experience though, because the host machine is obviously more powerful than the laptop from 10 years ago. For example, with 3D acceleration enabled, 3D stuff capped at 60FPS that would previously run at a laggy 8FPS (or even less) now runs at the solid 60. It's certainly surreal to see things done with a real GPU, after years of dealing with the bad Intel Integrated Graphics of 2011.

Another thing that got buffed up was the amount of RAM assigned. The laptop had 4GB of RAM, which was great at the time, but not so much today . The host PC has 32GB, so I can get away with giving 16GB of RAM to the VM, which is perfect for the 3D acceleration feature in VMWare. The speed increase of this is fairly noticeable, even if 10 years of Windows rot are in effect.

As for the CPU speed:

So yeah. The laptop I've been using for 10 years (against the bloat of "modern" websites/software) is now officially retired, just in time for Windows to mark its battery as bad.

it depends on the kind of sand.
as a kid I used to prefer thinner sand because it meant having an easier time with sand castles.
I'm on the other side (read: 5mm thick sand) now since thin sand is annoying.
