Some version of this may be the third announcement. A trackball gamepad makes a lot of sense to me for a Steam in the living room system.

Trackpads instead of analog sticks actually makes sense for FPSes. I think Valve may be onto something with that.

Not just FPSes, but other genres that aren't too common on the big screen, RTS games and stuff could become a lot more doable. Anything that benefits from the extra precision.
