Some of the new computers I've worked with have somehow just had names assigned to them by Windows 10.
Which's honestly kind of depressing.
But I'm also too lazy to figure out names for them. I was already struggling to name characters in an MMORPG I had played over the past few years, and just resorted to borrowing names of robots from BattleBots. |

I agree with your thoughts, Sanqui.
And I admit that I tend to feel like the odd one out for that when I do write forum posts on topics, they tend to be relatively long and rambly.
The irony that this is a short post. |

Car ownership sucks. I'm looking to have to possibly pay up to $1,000 to repair a car that I would ideally like to sell before the end of this year, assuming I can move house to somewhere with good public transit and services in that period of time.
This is money that I need to move in the first place.
The low income trap is real.
Also I'd love a 3840x2880 32in monitor. I have a whole lot of vertical real estate just being wasted. |

I've learnt I'm spectacularly bad at predicting that kind of thing, so... I try not to.
I wound up knowing someone for half a year and thought they were a gay man - they're straight.
And inversely, similar amount of time, but it turned out they're gay, not straight.
I try not to assume and wait for it to come up in conversation. That can take a long time. |

I don't know what I expected.
It's a shame they screwed this up so badly - the 3DS was still a surprisingly popular platform, and I know that it was selling surprisingly well, even after they killed manufacturing.
It's dumb that they don't want to accept free money from the 3DS eShop. |

A lot of the pushback comes from the handling of Windows 11's taskbar - or rather its lack of customisability. A lot of the issues draw down to that.
The rest is generally what plagues new Windows revisions in general - the early releases being unstable messes. |

I became aware I could just die - and functionally disappear - from a very young age. Without having any real concept others had a concept of the afterlife.
Which is both existentially terrifying and... honestly, it's mostly existential terror. |

It's still a nuisance for a lot of people, and they still feel skeevy over compatibility with other applications.
One of the people I know - who is terrified of building computers or even installing an OS - is overlooking a great Alder Lake prebuilt in favour of a Zen3 one, simply because the store is forcing Windows 11 installs for the Alder Lake system.
And part of this is because they don't trust Paint Tool SAI to not break on Windows 11.
It's weird little things like this that become a gigantic problem.
It's worth noting that Windows has a good habit of destroying graphics tablet compatibility on a whim. |

I do hope GPU prices get cheaper soon. Both my GTX 1060 and GTX 960 are beginning to experience some weird issues, that I'm pretty sure are attributable to wear and tear. Which isn't surprising - they're over 5-7 years old now.
Something like an RTX 3050 or RX 6600 would be a massive leap in performance - if it wasn't for the market being artificially inflated.
Of course, things are changing... |

| I hope 3:2 becomes more popular. I'd personally welcome a comeback of 4:3, buuuut... I can take 3:2. I'm often just wasting vertical screen space on my desks. 16:9 is an abomination. |

What made me trans? Always was, probably.
I realised something was up when I was very young and very upset upon being told I couldn't do/wear "girl things", for the lack of better term. |

It probably took over the Western Roman Empire at one point then accidentally oh no the Huns.
Then Sweden just settled for taking over the British Isles and oh no the literal world conquest. |
