I don't think it's the camera. The only ending scene that happens in there shows the penguin at the start, but not the racetrack itself. And the camera on the racetrack isn't any special from other racetracks (but do check the TTM racetrack to see if it has similar objects).

I too plead for categorytree, but for a different reason: it's needed to see how many entries a subcategory has. You know, like on Category:Games, it would say "* NES games (350 pages)", if the extension were there. I think it would be immensely useful.

That mole is more than likely something they forgot while redesigning the level. See also the two impossible coins that are in the game.

I think not. We removed similar information from the Pokemon Red page already that were based on instruction manual screenshots.

Oh, heh. Shows that I shouldn't talk abut things I don't know about.

Good to see someone experienced with SM64 look into this, though. Those "findings" look pretty suspect to me, so I hope you'll be able to clear things up.

There was some old German website which documented secrets and related things for a number of games, including TWINE. It seems to be gone, but the Internet Archive has it:

http://web.archive.org/web/20050505234609/http://home.datacomm.ch/nintendo/twine-level1.htm

Can anyone who played this game confirm that this is unused content? Google Translator should translate this well enough for you to understand, I hope.

There's also this unused level. And lo and behold, PJ64 actually has a cheat for it!

80102EDF 0008

Gotta try that out soon.

Where, exactly, does it warp you to?

If I remember correctly, it's the bottom of the lake, roughly where the stones in the water are (it's the part that stays water even after you drain the moat).

Always did think that was a bit odd, that there's a door that just leads out of the level. Normally the levels are "enclosed"; there's no exit, only getting a star/dying/using the menu to get out. If you get sucked in, it's like death, losing your progress if you were collecting 100 coins and so forth, but you don't lose a life and get kicked out like normal death. I wonder if it was supposed to lead to a third section of the level at one point?

There is the flying cap level you access by looking at the sun painted on the ceiling in the castle foyer, as well as the flying cap bonus red coin level near Rainbow Ride. I believe that if you fall out of those, you get dumped in front of the castle outside.

Almost. Falling down the Tower of the Wing Cap dumps you back inside the castle, on top of the sun painting. Falling down in Somewhere Over the Rainbow makes you end up in the air above the lake outside the castle.

It's unused, but when I watch the RAM, a counter goes up when I collect it, and my shot type resets to the default. I bet this was a shot powerup at some point, because all of this evidence suggests it." One is an intelligent, well-reasoned theory. The other one is just baseless speculation.

Amen.

There are ways to make pages interesting and not sleep-inducing, but this is not one of them.

Some admin would have to take this code and add it to the CSS. Then you could use the HTML ruby tags.

That seems like the easiest way to achieve this.

No. The problem's with the equals sign. It thinks everything before the equals sign ([http://jul.rustedlogic.net/thread.php?pid) is the parameter name, so the template won't show anything.

All of them are used. Every single one of them.

Anyone have an idea what the Japanese text here means? It might help me understand what the debug options are good for.

I played a bit with 0.91. "Unplayable" fits it well: the ball likes to get stuck in the ramps, the multiplier stacks indefinitely, gravity mode is totally broken, and the scoreboard only shows up once and then never again. And the music is a 15-second MIDI that loops indefinitely.

It's pretty amusing, if anything.

It's not an actual magic bottle. It is some kind of item that you can collect for some odd reason and that just looks like a magic bottle when you pick it up (note that it doesn't restore any magic). I think very much that this is worth mentioning.

Very occasionally, MediaWiki can get hiccups like that (no pun intended). For PNG files, recompressing the files via PNGOUT should be sufficient to make the wiki happy.

The Wind Waker page is missing some actual, you know, prose. Images are nice 'n all, but the rooms' descriptions, for example, are pathetic, often just consisting of half a sentence. That needs to be made better.

I found this in the OoT text dump, but can't quite pinpoint at where it is used, since it looks pretty unfamiliar to me. Anyone have an idea?

C'mon, man! You're too old for

But that's kind of the issue; which games playable as a child are accessible as an adult? I don't know any. The Skull Kids in the Lost Woods attack you without saying anything. Then there's the Forest Stage, I went down there but you don't get any kind of message.

(It is amusing to read through that site and see how far we've come since the OMG BETA QUEST days. )

Link it anyway, please. I'd like to see how much of that is really unused.
