Fantastic. Though TASVideos probably takes most of your time, I'm always very delighted to see you hacking.
Very professional.

Thank you! I was indeed aiming to do a very thorough and professional job at the translation.

TASVideos however no longer takes most of my time. I resigned from TASVideos in late 2009. Not that I have any more free time today; quite contrary it feels.

It is 12.12.12, or will be soon for those of you in the backwards land.

When it gets 12:12, how will you celebrate 12.12.12 12:12?

It's a time traveler who went there to kill the next Hitler... only he didn't know which one of the children it was; and finally he killed himself to ensure he won't be the one who becomes the hitler due to a predestination paradox.

Joking aside, there is no statement to be made that is not obvious.

In Castlevania II, there is still one string remaining that I just can't quite figure out.

ノロワレシ

テ゛ット゛リハ゛-
イマナオ ノロイヲ
トクモノ マチワヒ゛ル
カワ

Romaji: Norowareshi Dead River imanao noroiwo tokumono machiwabiru kawa
Context: Random bulletin by a lady in the furthermost town from the actual scene of topic.
Background: There is a river called Dead River, and there is a curse at play on the river; there is a ferryman who is supposedly cursed, or the river is cursed, or both (lots of stuff that is cursed in this game), and the player will "clear" the curse by showing a certain item to the ferryman.

I can't figure out the grammar of this sentence. I don't understand if the river is waiting for someone, or whether the lady is waiting, or if the lady ponders whether the person who clears the curse is waiting for something, or whether the curse clearer in this sentence is actually a thing or a person, and what is the role of the "kawa" at the end of the sentence. Is it a concatenation of two particles, "ka" and "wa", or does it mean a river, or something else? Can someone please explain how this sentence works.

Thanks, but that's about as much sense as I made, which is not much... And I am not looking for a poem to replace the text. I am looking for understanding.

Thanks. Still, I was not looking for a translation. That part of the process is mine to take, and it depends on available constraints in target media, once I understand the original sentence to begin with.
No, I sought the understanding of how the sentence is constructed and on its grammatical sense.

Glitterberri helped with this one at IRC.
I am now satisfied with the explanation that the paragraph consists of two sentences:

"The accursed Dead River... It is a river that still desperately awaits for the one who clears the curse."

I had not considered this possibility. What you quoted, also shows a comma after the river name, effectively for the same purpose.

In any case, thank you for your effort.

Just a heads-up: I have done a lot of updates to the translation since my last post here. As of this post, the translation is going at version 2.2.2.

The full list of changes is listed at ROMhacking.net, but shortly, the font now looks nicer, there is a save&load feature, the game can now be installed on a really wide variety of different donor cartridge boards (provided you swap the ROMs for EPROMs), and quite a few bugs have been introduced and subsequently fixed.
