| I like gentoo--it goes off the deep end in terms of configuration (must compile from source to install), but it is nice having a computer boot up in less than 2 minutes since I have installed only the things I know I will use. The binary distributions still have too much cruft at startup, but not as much as Windows. |

I have finals this week and studying for this pesky little test called NDBE Part I
Thus, I contributed anything to the board, I would have contributed more monotony and I really don't want to add to the monotony that I have already supplied plenty of =P |

| *sigh* all this talk of spring break makes me feel old--because I always have something to do related to school. But I guess some spring break and getting a chance to sleep in is better than none, right? |

The Washlet -- you'll never think about toilets the same way again.

Stoke for the RC.
Until apple stops "trying to bundle other software when you download the player, [and stops] the constant update reminders (which also tried to bundle other software)", iTunes and Quicktime will never get a divorce. However, there are open source software for managing your iPod |

Sometimes even air compressor is not enough and you would then have to open the laptop (potentially voiding the warranty) to remove the massive dustball that is blocking the intake for the fan.

I never really trust the upgrading process from OS to OS, you usually pull a lot of cruft from the old OS. I think whenever you are thinking about installing a new OS, a fresh wipe would be best. I wonder how big of a partition to run decent amount of things in Windows7. For XP-SP3, you need at least 10GiBs-~4GiB for the OS/Swap and ~4GiB for Programs and Games, unless you do not mind leveraging a linux partition for site of program installation and what not.
I have yet to use Vista but I am looking forward to Windows 7. |

Yeah, they are fragile things--but the prices certain people charge are ridiculous. I hope the time you opened the laptop, you were following the instructions :x |

I haven't been up this late in years because of school work. So, I might as well revive some of that nostalgia.
Have you guys ever just stopped by the board in wee hours of the morning just to see any updates? |

| I don't think heat will be a major tissue because you only need to generate heat long enough for the read/write head to do its job, which is just a fraction of a second. That is different versus a CPU when all its circuits are constantly active. A CPU die is a million times, if not billion times bigger that the size they are seeking |

Makes me wonder how it got so widespread in the first place? What is it means of replication? I think my windows box will be fine because it is behind a linux gateway and I rarely go through shady sites.
But yeah, I do agree it has some experts fearing a repeat of blaster |
