I'm pretty busy these days, but I just found this image on TCRF posted by Gamma : ![]() This image shows just the room 2 of "I_SubAN". I immediately recognized perfectly with this ladder and texture of the wall. ![]() --------------------

It is normal that the two links do not work, because I changed the location of the files since yesterday. I just released the new version of my site "Triforce Legend" (after 3 months of work). Here are the new links: Files of The Wind Waker HACK (US Version) Files of The Wind Waker HACK (EU Version) These links may be temporary, as I count them elsewhere on the site. I think to a special section on my website about the hack on The Wind Waker. There will be new links will not move then. I'm pretty busy the last few months, but I always watch what happens here. --------------------

I just found a video of much better quality on the promotion of the Famicom Disk System in which it is possible to see several pictures of a very old version of The Legend of Zelda. With this video, it is possible to see that the Heart Container were really different. The other interesting thing is the number of keys to the infinite which is replaced by a small heart. I just wrote an article on the prototype of The Legend of Zelda for my website "Triforce Legend". I tried to do as much research as possible and I found some interesting stuff. Here are a few: ************************************************************** In the prototype of The Legend of Zelda, several items are strangely in the dungeons in the Second Quest. It is simply residues of the First Quest. Only on the left side of the map dungeons. Here is a comparison between the dungeons of the First Quest and those of the Second Quest: Click on the map to enlarge: ![]() 03 19 03 1B 05 03 03 03 03 03 03 03 03 03 03 03 "03" is the Magic Sword, which is the default item in the game. ************************************************************** Another very interesting thing, I changed the light on the two maps drawn during the development of the game and were presented in the "Iwata Asks" dated February 2010. You can see that some rooms are whiter than others, these are the rooms added in the prototype and that have been removed with correction fluid. Some lines are also redone with a marker. (In the "Iwata Asks") Nakago: Oh, yeah, I can see where correction fluid was used. ![]() --------------------

An interesting video! There are also doors barricaded with the planks, it's a demo to do stuff like that... This means that the dungeon can not be visited at 100% in this version... However, it is not clear that there is a lot of maps (like the E3 2006 demo of Twilight Princess is a total disinterest), but I hope the contrary, because it is older and we all know that The Wind Waker is a game with many unused stuff in the final version. Too bad not to have a copy of this demo, though I especially want an older version... --------------------

Currently, I downloaded the iso "Interactive Multi-Game Demo Disc Version 9", there is a demo of The Wind Waker in the disc. The disc date of February 2003 was a month before the U.S. release. I do not know if there will be something interesting in it and if it is different from the demo in Zelda Collection (just to see if the Map Select exists or not). I would have preferred a Japanese version of the demo. Tomorrow, I would look at this demo of the game in detail. --------------------

Of course, we should not expect to find a lot of stuff in this version... Here are the first things I looked in the demo: The Map Select exists in this demo. This is a Japanese version with the same ID, but translated into English. This is not the same demo that Zelda Collection. The three choices are different. 02/11/27 01:19:56 FINAL ----> JP 02/12/06 16:54:20 FINAL ----> JP/US DEMO FEB 2003 03/02/19 11:43:53 FINAL ----> US 03/03/17 19:33:15 FINAL ----> EU 03/09/26 16:45:37 FINAL ----> EU DEMO ZELDA COLLECTION Map Select code : 0438D998 8038D478 It is even emptier than the demo of Zelda Collection! Rooms available: majroom MajyuE Mjtower M_Dra09 M_DragB M_NewD2 Name sea sea_T I will continue the search. EDIT : Demo - Version Final : ![]() Another thing, it lacks many texts outside the places to visit in the demo. The letters are larger and are only three lines. The texts are different. --------------------

It is not widely known apparently. There are not so long as I know the existence of this pipe and I thought the same thing before finding this secret access. Hidden Bonus Stage, Ludwig's Castle --------------------

Yesterday I found this trying to research as much as possible information about the prototype of The Legend of Zelda, do research on is very difficult: http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?3470-Yahoo-Japan-items-links-and-pics&p=68949&viewfull=1#post68949 The prototype of The Legend of Zelda was put on sale on Yahoo Auction, an April 26, 2005. But it would not be his first appearance on the internet. His first appearance would have come at the beginning of 2003 with the picture of the white disk. http://web.archive.org/web/20030303163242/http://www.planetnintendo.com/thewarpzone/prototypefamicom.html I really do not understand is that this prototype was twice put on sale within three years or there is another reason in 2003... It seems rather vague... --------------------

The only possible interest in a prototype like this, it is possible debug mode enabled. Otherwise, a PAL version has no interest and many prototypes are PAL version unfortunately... Buy this type of prototype as expensive, you must be crazy! For the prototypes of Zelda I and Zelda II, it is better to have FDS versions, but this is extremely rare... --------------------

It's more complicated to get into an unused room in this game because there are several things to change in a room (Level ID, Layer 1, Layer 2 and Sprites). Moreover, many unused rooms are not available in Level ID (000 to 1FF). To create code to access unused rooms is very difficult unfortunately. It is not enough to change a single value. I think it's the same for Mario 3. Otherwise, it is a remake of the SNES version of the game. I do not think there are more unused rooms in this version. --------------------

I do not know if SMA1 (SMB2) is in the same genre, I'll try to see if it's easier for this game. For SMA3 (SMW2) and SMA4 (SMB3), they are like SMA2. Even if one day we can play Wii U games on an emulator, I'm pretty pessimistic about the existence of unused rooms of TWW HD, especially since we have well researched the original game in recent years. Nintendo hates our research unfortunately... In 10 years, things have changed a lot. I would have liked to know for OOT 3D, it could be an indication for TWW HD. --------------------

New to the hacked version of The Wind Waker. I added a "Menu2.dat" file which is the translation of the Map Select and I kept the original file in japanese "Menu1.dat". To activate the Map Select translated into English, just use the code below: Map Select in english (NTSC-U) 04362DB8 322E6461 Map Select in english (PAL) 04369924 656E7532 The other change in the hacked version is the presence of two versions of the unused rooms. For example: "A_R00" (original) and "A_R00DL" (hacked). I thought it was better to keep most of the stuff origins in the hack. The Map Select has been a change to visit the unused rooms restored. Files of The Wind Waker HACK (US Version) Files of The Wind Waker HACK (EU Version) Cuber456, you always think about one day change the textures for "A_R00"? Several months ago, I reworked several textures and find the old textures in "VrTest" that are compatible with "A_R00". Here is the link: News Textures for A_R00 --------------------
