Old NASA pages featuring Comic Sans. Some of them were made in MS Word 97. It's really quite charming!

Congratulations! When can we expect photos?

Oh, and if you don't mind answering some stupid questions...

Now that it's complete, what do you suppose was the most difficult game to get (Maybe which was most expensive and which was hardest to find if they're not the same)? What percentage would you say you were able to find boxes for? What's next for Rick? Super NES?

What about peripherals? Do you have all of those? Do you intend to get them all?

Seaman generated a lot of buzz back in the day, but I've never played it so I don't know if it was warranted.

Of course there's the classics, like Jet Set Radio, Space Channel 5...uhh, what was that one that was kind of like Yakuza? Phatasy Star (Is this still worth playing without online access?), ChuChu Rocket.

That's all I can really remember, but I never had a Dreamcast at all, those are just the games I wanted to play.

I hope it doesn't bother anyone that I'm triple-posting here, but I really, really love old websites. Here's a particular gem:

I wonder what happened to you, Alan...

I play with my wife, too, and I think that's been a detriment to me playing. She's doing such amazing things with our island (It doesn't hurt that she's not working currently and I am) so I feel less inclined to do the things I would normally be doing. She's breeding our flowers, so I don't need to do that, she's giving our villagers cool and/or stupid stuff. So a lot of the stuff I would be doing is taken care of for me.

And to top it off,(And this is the bigger issue with me not playing anymore) I kind of hate all the furniture in the game. Every time I upgrade my house, I struggle with what I'm going to put in it, because there just aren't that many furniture sets, compared to, say, New Leaf. And those that exist are so boring and mundane.

It sucks because I've got three of my all time favorite villagers, but I still can't bring myself to care about this game. I think the main culprit is the DIY mechanic. They invested so much in it, that they took away everything that was interesting if it would compete with DIY. I don't like any of the chairs, I hate all of the tables, I'm totally uninterested in almost everything in this game. I tried with the wedding thing, i thought that would be fun, but it really isn't. It's so frustrating trying to set up a cute wedding scene, only to be reminded that there is no good furniture in this game.

With the mechanics involved, this really should be my favorite Animal Crossing game, but it's just not. I want to like it, but I find that I can't.

So my kids were listening to my Pandora the other day, and a song from Super Mario 64 came on, and I thought, "Dang, I haven't played that game in years. And I bet they'd love it, too."

The thing is, I never actually owned a copy of SM64. I borrowed it from friends here and there, but never had my own copy. So I went out and grabbed on on eBay. Now, my wife thought I was crazy, because after playing modern games (like Mario Odyssey?) how could such an old game hold up.

Well, my friends, this is probably not news to you, but it most certainly does. I'm having a blast. Yeah, the game shows its age here and there (Camera!!), but oh man is it fun. Leave it to Nintendo to just nail it out of the park on their first try. This game is soooo much fun, which I knew already, but dang. Even 20 years later it's still great. And I was right, my kids (9 and 4) are super into it!

And since I have my N64 out, I've also been playing a good bit of Mario Party 3. That's a great game but I hadn't forgotten about that since I play it at least once a year. But I finally dusted off my 15 year old Story Mode save file, and am planning to finally finish that.

I never even heard of it... Is it a streaming thing (I assume from the Facebook Gaming mention)?

No wonder they're shutting it down, it must have had zero advertising.

Ahh, that's exactly it, isn't it? It doesn't feel like Animal Crossing, it feels like another crummy phone app... except I paid $60 for it.

That said, I did get a lot of enjoyment out of it while it lasted, and the rest of my family did, too. If I had no idea what Animal Crossing was, I'd probably be pretty pleased with it, it's only when you compare it to older titles that it loses its lustre.

So of course, playing Mario Party 3 inevitably leads to playing Mario Party 2 (But not 1... Only villains go for that). It's a really weird thing for me, because while 3 is certainly the more polished game, and even has some of the best minigames copied directly from its predecessor, Mario Party 2 is just... More fun.

And by that, I don't mean to imply that Mario Party 3 isn't fun, or even that 2 is really more enjoyable. I just mean that Mario Party 2 felt more playful. Even from the very beginning, starting a game, 2 starts with the characters running down a pipe accompanied by a wild orchestra, while 3 starts with the characters taking an elevator, complete with elevator music in the background. Mario Party 2 has everyone dress up, and even Bowser, who is not just a villain, but an active antagonist in every single game, gets in on the fun. Landing on a Bowser space isn't even a bad thing, since you visit a cute and pudgy Bowser who is just as likely run away because he offered to give you 100,000 stars, as he is to take coins from you. This technically exists in MP3, but it's much more rare.

All in all, it's just a really goofy game, that definitely doesn't take itself serious in any way at all, while Mario Party 3 is more like a formal exercise to find out who the Superstar really is.

Oh yeah, and also, in the beginning of MP2, Wario comes in, says he's the best, then just minds his business until Mario walks up and punches him in the back of the head for no reason. Who's the bad guy now, Mario?

When I saw that link, I thought, neh... No way I'm signing up for a Tumblr clone.

But I decided to click on it and the first thing I see is this, and of course, it's my one weakness... Webcomics.

I guess I have Waluigi.Land (Works in text browsers, too!)

That's not really weird, it's just dumb.

But a browser, even on a mobile phone, is always faster than an app.*

*Except in the case of sites like Imgur which purposefully slow down mobile browsing to push people toward the app.

I mean, for a whole lot of reasons I'm glued to where I currently live, and I don't really see a future with me out of it. Not really because of any fondness for the city or the area, just that I have friends, kids, and most importantly, a job here.

So, the last two weeks have been pretty cool for me. I got call backs from two jobs interviews I went on months ago. The first one was for a government job. I'm still waiting to hear back from them, but they called my references today, so that might be happening this week. The other one actually sent me a job offer for $65k, which I've accepted...but will turn down if the state gets back to me.

I would love to live in a Nordic country. I know you have your problems but it seems like a paradise compared to the USA.
