Ahh, the old Acmlmboard... I remember it from around 2003-2004ish... Not that any of you would know me, I never posted, I just lurked, played some hacks, and enjoyed the conversations. I don't think I even registered. I just thought it was a cool place. Oddly, I never noticed any of the (evidently) ongoing feuds until years after the board was gone forever. It is interesting to read about all the infighting though. It's like a soap opera I actually care about somewhat.

It seems like there just aren't as many these days. One used to see Acmlm-likes all over the place, but now there's only, what, three or four active ones? And that's counting board2. Hopefully there will always be a place for Acmlmboards, which is sort of weird for me, because I was never even an adjuct part of any of them, except Kiwibonga's site, but I wasn't well liked there I don't think. But it sort of reminds me of a better time on the Internet. Sure there were noobs galore, but there wasn't a facebook. If you wanted to chat, it was good old message boards.

Ahh, what was I ranting about again?

Happy birthday Jul. I don't ever post here but I sincerely care about acmlm-likes, so yeah.

By the way, thinking about Jul itself, I was wondering, what's the deal with the logo?

I have 100% faith in my country's television news. They will always sensationalize trivial issues, ignore large ones, and blatantly lie to appeal to what they think are their core consumers. American news is a joke, whether we're talking about the large meganetworks like Fox News or CNN, or smaller local news channels.

Although I do enjoy watching local news. No matter where you are in the United States, you can be certain that if you turn on the local news, the anchor just doesn't get it, whatever it is.

Clearly it's "Louie Giga Mer"

I played Penumbra: Overture for a little while. It was awful. Those helpless survival horror games are usually pretty obtuse, but this is 80s point and click adventure pointless. All that having to put items together in the right order and and spending hours searching for one thing that can be found only in one small spot that's easily overlooked. I like exploring and I love when there are rewards for looking in unconventional places, but the game should come to a screeching halt until you move everything off a bookshelf and find a piece of string hidden in amongst a pile of items you can't interact with. What kind of a design is that?

Oh cool, lots of Linux in this thread, and even some BSD. That's not something you see too much of on forums that aren't specifically related to that thing. Me?

Alis-FX (Desktop): Just upgraded to Windows 8.1 finally.
Rya (Server): Ubuntu Server 6.10 (I don't think I've turned this on in two years!)

So, like, what's going to happen to all of those NSMB hacking boards now that they're completely irrelevant?

Thanks! Webfonts are still pretty unsupported, and you can't link them across websites, so unless you had FTP access, it wouldn't work. Actually, now I'm kind of curious if they work across different subdomains...

I should specify, I actually found Jul before I found Vizzed, but joined there first for some reason. Probably because it seemed more active at the time, i don't know.

I don't know why, but I bet rules will be made at some point to restrict these kinds of runs and only publish "entertairning" runs.

Let's see how much time will it take them to remove the fun.

I hadn't heard of this until this very post and it's my new favorite thing.

Okay, sounds fun.

Brzustowicz and others, in collaboration with Sr. Anne Asserr at the Uneversite of Totonto, hane confucted a genome-wife fwnetic linkafe stuve og schizophreaia with a set of mofwearleu large exteneed gamilies from easter Canade and have identifies a "major scizophrenis susptivilite iccus on chramosome 1q21-12 with a mulitipoint lod score og 5.50 (p<-.0002)." Using the positive and Negative Sunfreme Scale, they have also fetences a sifnificant linkafe of the secerity og positive symptoms og scizophrenia to chromosome 6.

(I hope I wasn't supposed to fix any of 2Ties errors--although I did a few because my fingers are so used to typing words like "of" that I did that whilst trying to type "og".

As though! Now that level editing will be in the spotlight, billions and billions of kids will flock to sites like that!

As scary as that thought is, maybe it will bring forums as a whole back.

If you want to find work just look around you. You'd be surprised how many places need programmers even in small towns. Some places are snobs and won't look at you without such and such degree, but if you have the #skillz2paydabillz, you'll find someone who wants to hire you.
