So, technic for 1.8 is out..

And I'm disliking the tweaked recipes. I spent so much time designing an infinite diamond machine in 1.7, only to find out it doesn't work in 1.8's version because glowstone converts back to ores at a 2:1 ratio instead of a 3:2

That's... really disappointing to say the least, especially considering I wasted so much time for it.

That works except cookies aren't video games.

In fact, video games are considered by many an art now.

If you apply that analogy to other arts, such as movies or fictional books... It suggests stuff like Twilight being better than Gone With the Wind, since one romance is newer than the other. It makes absolutely no sense.

You might want to take off the jade shades there, they're making your opinions look more jaded than our nostalgia goggles make ours look fanboyish. I personally think OoT is rather overrated, and that yes, newer Zelda games are better, but OoT isn't BAD. It's still enjoyable in a modern setting. I only played it the first time about 2 years ago, and I still had fun.

See, games aren't like cookies. What matters the most is if you can have fun with the game. Not if the game holds well when compared to more modern titles. If you can go back and still have fun with a game, then that means it's good! Furthermore, games being fun is subjective. You're trying to say, objectively, they're bad. You're trying to apply your opinion as fact, which is wholly incorrect.

Sure, Ninty might be money first, but they're also taking gambles to give better products to make said money. Sony and Microsoft do the exact same damn thing. Microsoft took a gamble redoing the controller from the Xbox to the 360 as much as Nintendo did going from a classic pad to a remote. Sony took a gamble by trying to use expensive new technology to produce higher-quality games to sell its product. Of course it's marketing, but in order to market anything they have to spend time and money to research if the outcome is actually fun and will sell. It's more than actually looking good, as Kinect sales have shown us, it actually has to be fun to a broad audience if you want it to do well.

Plus, Miyamoto is totally in it for game making, not for money.

Oh, and about skyward sword, have you even used a Wii Motion Plus to swordfight? Doesn't sound like it. Try it before forming an opinion, or you're no worse than the "fanboys" who decry your opinions.

I guess yeah... Still, without redstone pipes now, running a 100% self-sufficient aggregator cluster is difficult because buildcraft pipes have an RNG when stuff goes through.

Still, what about those Klein Star nerfs? First it gets nerfed, then it needs tons more diamonds to make, and then it gets nerfed again so it won't act as infinite fuel because apparently when you have enough diamonds to get a god-powered item, fueling a furnace is too much!

Found another loop. 2 Glass -> 3 Sand, cook the sand, send one glass off. 8 glass -> 1 Ice, 8 Ice -> 1 Lapis, 8 Lapis -> 1 Lapis ore, 4 Lapis ore -> 1 Diamond

Doesn't even need a macerator to pull off the "exploit", just needs fuel.. or if you have industrialcraft, energy for an electric furnace.

keep it hushed to the EE maker though, or else it'll get removed!

EDIT: The diamond pipe thing doesn't work, at least in the 1.7.3 version of buildcraft (What I've got here on my laptop) I don't have enough diamonds to test in 1.8

Apparently there's people around where I live wanting to occupy too..

I saw there were posters that got tore down the next day.

I guess uh... this isn't the best place for that really, considering it's the richest city in the richest province in all of Canada. I don't have a job, but I'm probably able to get one. :V

And while I agree with the reform sentiments... It's mostly just hippies camping outside of wall street at this point. Organized protests tend to go better because if you submit documents the cops can't legally touch you and they tend to not be people who are just mad and breaking the law!

Don't have a link on me, but I got an email this morning because I sent off an email last time it was getting pushed. Apparently it has an amendment for music copying, but still super blankets games and movies.

Can't copy your anime or movies to your iPod! :/

Disgaea 4, apparently I'm in the top 1000 now. Sweet. I've been working on levelling up items so I can hopefully fight a badass and grab some rare stuff off him. Holy crap, he's strong.

I'm also hoping to grab the Sonic Generations demo tonight after my physics lab if it's up.

I'd create an account with a name asking to get banned.

While modern sonic's is technically bigger, he's also much faster, so what's left of that feeling isn't the actual size of the level, it's the openness. Modern's is much more open than classic's, because you see it from a different angle.

If I recall correctly from an old video that stuck Classic Sonic in Modern's GHZ, he's actually much faster than Modern is. Mainly because of that ridiculously overpowered spindash, but still...

I remember a video where spindashing crashed the game, so he never spindashed. He was much slower.

if you have a PS3 and want to try the demo, you can make a UK PSN account to download and play.

CPU you can't put a graphics card in a laptop, it doesn't work. Most laptops are underpowered, or have intel shitty graphics, so to laptop users it would be obscure.

And to those of you concerned about hold square to win, remember, this is green hill zone. you can hold right to win in Sonic 1 in green hill. Later levels are gonna be more complicated

I'm getting it probably for the PS3 so I can play more than Disgaea games on it.

I do have a very nice (now) PC and a USB 360 controller so I could probably get the PC one no big deal.
