Wow, a English retranslation. I've been waiting for one of these, as I imagine alot of Castelvania fans have too. It'll be good to see the dialogue in a closer translation.

I hope you can either redraw the hammer bro sprite or make a new enemy. I'm so sick of that enemy on the world map. You could use something fresh along with the other new graphics.

Hack this win? That typo actually makes sense. I hope this ending is discovered too. Double Dragon is one of my favorite video game series.

There's also gamehacking.org. They handle requests for retro games pretty good.

That ghost is a bit interesting but they have a thing about clean screenshots. There's no way to get one for this game yet so I guess the article will have to wait until a emulator is released.

I added this stuff to the wiki but the MK2 SNES boss moves were removed. I guess they don't qualify as unused playable characters if doing anything crashes the game.

So you added a NES renditon of the US theme song eh? Is that on both patches? Also, looks like someone beat you to releasing a complete translation, but not by much.

For those of you that don't pay attention to the recent changes section of the wiki. I posted unused sprites found by someone else onto the wiki:

http://tcrf.net/Mortal_Kombat_(Arcade)
http://tcrf.net/Mortal_Kombat_II_(Arcade)
http://tcrf.net/Mortal_Kombat_3_(Arcade)
http://tcrf.net/Mortal_Kombat_Trilogy_(PlayStation)
http://tcrf.net/Mortal_Kombat_Mythologies:_Sub-Zero_(PlayStation)

There's some interesting stuff there for sure, such as Motaro speaking in MK3, proof that the male ninjas were planned from MK3, and a scrapped character in MKT.

Posted on 03-19-13 05:02:00 AM, in Perhaps a new way to discover undocumented Sega CD stuff (last edited by MathUser at 03-19-13 12:10:04 PM) Link
I just learned that Gens Hacking Version can make Sega CD PAR codes. It can't use them tho. Using them has no effect in-game. But those codes can be used on Genesis GX for the Wii. This can be useful for RPG's if you make a item modifier and you can change the values in Genesis GX and test them to see if there are any unused items. Sure there's other uses that can be found too. Maybe level selects?

I made my first codes for The Terminator for Sega CD cause I couldn't find any codes online anywhere. I don't think there's any other Sega CD emulators that support cheat code use besides Genesis GX.

Anyway, here's the codes I came up with for The Terminator:

FFFE1D:28 Infinite Energy (turn off at score tally)
FFFE41:09 Infinite Lives
FFFE40:3F Infinite Grenades

Note Genesis GX only supports codes that have 4 values after the address. If you make a cheat file that has only two values at the end of it I believe they will be deleted.

Edit: I found out that Gens/GS for PC also supports using Sega CD PAR codes.

Edit 2: Here's more codes I found. I'm probably done hacking the game cause all the basic codes are covered.

FFFE42:03 Max Gun
FFF28E:FFFF Enable Debug/Level Select/Invincibility Cheats
FFF290:FFFF Enable Debug/Level Select/Invincibility Cheats
FFF2B5:00 Enemy 1 dies fast
FFF2E9:00 Enemy 2 dies fast
FFF31D:00 Enemy 3 dies fast
FFF351:00 Enemy 4 dies fast
FFF385:00 Enemy 5 dies fast
FFF455:00 Enemy 6 dies fast

I started having trouble finding the other enemy dies fast codes so there's some enemies who won't die fast. But with the ones provided it should make getting through the game a little easier at least.

This is the gameshark code he posted in #x

01000AC4

I only tested it in Mednafen and it boots to the screen, but you can't progress past it. It may be a problem with the emulator and not the code itself. Haven't tested it on other emulators yet. Anyway, look forward to seeing this detailed in the wiki.
