| Hi guys, I'm new here, so move this if necessary. I've been doing investigative work on YouTube user "SuperYoshi"'s "Mystery Video Game Music" series. He has posted 30-second VGM clips from videogamemusicquiz.com that he needs identified. I've compiled games for all but 15 of the games. I can supply the correct answers if requested, as he hasn't updated the video for a while. Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzVYGU_atAU Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=erxuT7MZuKk&feature=related Part 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zty3L2Stfgc&feature=related Here are the numbered clips that you guys may be able to Identify, that I haven't: #7 #12 #15 #22 #24 #27 #29 #31 #34 #37 #43 #47 #51 #58 #63 |

| Hi guys, What format is the BGM in PC games usually stored in? The vast majority of sound effects I've seen are in the Wave format, but I haven't found the type of file that the BGM is in yet. Also, is it usually included in a .DAT file with other game data? Thanks, Pete |

| Okay, this is not video game related, but it still freaks me the FUCK out. Big-time. Watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CAFH6NUGEtI&feature=channel_video_title Pay attention to 0:06 to 0:11. Then listen to the hymn "Rock of Ages." It matches, DEAD-ON. Freaky as hell. |

Only thing is, most of the games I'm looking to access have the game data gathered in folders...in fact, one racing game I just explored a few hours ago had the tracks as TGA files. What I'm saying is, if the sound effects are stored in WAV files, then why aren't the BGM files also WAV? ...Or are they? |

| Okay...so I am attempting to run a 1998 PC game called Stunt Track Driver on my computer. I tried reinstalling it, and I cannot get any graphics to show. I can hear the soundtrack from the intro and menu, but I can also not click on any of the menu options (random clicking around on the screen confirmed this). Help, please! I think all my drivers are up-to-date, and I'm not sure what's wrong. |

| Well, it works on the older computer, which had XP installed in 2002 or so and hasn't had very many updates recently, and doesn't work on this one, which had a system restore done in 2009. The only computer I have with 98 is my laptop, which is pathetic for 3dfx stuff like...almost every non-platformer PC game from that era. I suppose I'll just be doing research on the older computer instead of the new one. |

Originally posted by paulguy Right, it's a Hot Wheels game. I've been exploring it along with three other games, Crash, Micro Racers, and STD2 (lol) because the game data is easy to access. So far, I've found one unused sprite sheet and one relatively well-known hidden/unfinished stage. Fun stuff. |

Okay, so here's the results of my investigation into this game. 2. The following can be found in x:\CRASH\Data\Ui\Nothing.bmp: ![]() 3. The following notes are inserted at the following lines in gamesound.xml: Line 191
4. The following is a prototypical/test graphic. This tells the user to read the installation instructions in the manual: ![]() The final version: ![]() 5. The following placeholder can be accessed in x:\CRASH\Data\Ui\levels\C_city_off.bmp: ![]() It's assumed that this is a leftover from beta versions of the game, for levels which (obviously) had not been built. 6. The following line can be found in the Crash.cfg file: // remove these? BIND SYSRQ PRINTSCREEN It is unknown if the “SysRq”/”Print Screen” functionality was actually removed in-game. As an additional note, I have a video of a test run of the unfinished level from Hot Wheels Stunt Track Driver (not mine, although I did record a low-quality run off of my own copy, from a computer screen): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zp7FBu7bxDg |

Also, I gleaned this information from the Paragon Wiki:
Again, I don't know if this might refer to the functionality of the SysRQ/PrintScreen button in Crash! as well. If it did, then its functionality was probably taken out, as evidenced by the coding provided. |

| Here are a few potentially unused models that I've found. I highly recommend K3D Object Viewer, which I used for these: 1. A barbecue grill named "A_bbq_L". This might be used in one level, as it's been a while since I've played the game, but I don't remember any place where this would have been used. ![]() 2. A test model called "whatever". This was referenced in the "prototype" code (which I deleted for reasons that Waffle provided evidence for). ![]() 3. Now this one is just weird: a harmless-looking arrow with the name "Do not load this arrow!" I don't know what was wrong with it that it couldn't be loaded. ![]() (Sorry for the image quality on the first one; I saved it as a PNG and it didn't make any difference.) |

| The original models had textures other than these, but I don't know where they are located. I watched a 15-minute-long playthrough of this game... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skIg83NiEt4 ...and you can see for yourself that it's pretty damn shitty. The trailer is used in the "donut shop" level, although I didn't recognize it at first. So I'll go ahead and delete that. The barbecue grill is something that I can almost confirm is nowhere in the game. |

| This might prove useful for the Hot Wheels Stunt Track Driver page: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eI-J5t8US2Q It's odd in that almost all of the cars appear to be identical to their final versions. Just thought I'd throw this out there for further examination... |
