Good work as always GB, did you post this over at Starmen.net? They'd probably go nuts over it.

Here's some thread necromancy with CONTENT.

I was playing Mortal Kombat Trilogy the other day and got hold of a move list and their are several moves that have been cut from previous games (besides the one we already mentioned) that made it intro Trilogy.

Baraka:

Blade Spin - Probably cut because it gives him huge range and would have more juggle potential
than MK2 used.

Goro:

Twirl Spin - Likely had to have been an unused MK1 attack since MKT uses the original Goro sprites
unaltered. Probably would have made him harder than he already was, and was cut.

Jax:

Double Energy Wave - Does a good deal of damage, and was probably cut for that reason.

MK1 Kano:

Has a blade spin attack that was too powerful in MK1 and thus cut. What is it with these guys and cutting spin moves?

MK2 Kung Lao:

Has Raiden's superman move. Probably cut because it was repetitive.

Liu Kang:

Has a red bicycle kick. Looks very similar to Johnny Cage's red specials.

Motaro:

Now has an over the back toss. This could be new to trilogy as they most likely still had the Motaro model handy. Doubtful though considering the only real work they put in MKT was recording a new Johnny Cage, and giving some very heavily un play-tested moves to Noob and Rain.

Shao Kahn:

Now has a pick up and smack attack. Most likely unused from UMK3 and the like under the same logic as Motaro's throw.

Nightwolf:

Again another red version of a move, his shoulder dash.

Rayden:

Has a lightening attack that goes in reverse. Probably too hard to dodge in the MK2 engine and was cut.

Scorpion:

Has a forward teleport punch. Probably removed for balancing reasons.

Sektor:

Has a double missile shot . The damage on this thing adds up very very quickly, so its pretty obvious why this was left out of MK3 and UMK3.

Sindel:

Has a double fireball. Probably cut from the vanilla 3's for the same reason as Sektor.

Stryker:

Has high and low double grenade attacks. Yet another double. This thing is nearly impossible to avoid, and since he can do it high or low it makes it especially deadly. This move does give you a very long recovery time however. Probably the longest of any move in the game.

The N64 version didn't have all the extra room afforded by a disk so they had to cut some characters/moves. The bosses in the 64 version do have fatalities but they were very quickly thrown together, and were likely not cut from another game.

Have you tried unzipping the romset and opening some of the roms in tile molester? I just opened it up and looked through them in Winrar. Unfortunately there's not one labeled something like GRAPHIC.bin or anything. It'd be annoying but its possible you could just open them in TM until you find something, but if they are compressed its like you said gonna be hard.

Dad's not really much for sentimental things like cards and gifts so I just made a point to hang out with him.

Sub-Drag probably has volume's of beta info garnered from his own personal hacking romances with GE64 and PD. Seems like Delstar had a a few PD items too but i think they've gone off the net now.

You can find the missing files on all dll files...I think. Seems like I did that the last time I tried using the GE editor.

Programs always check the EXE's directory so that'd probably be the surest bet. Someone's had a computer crash I see.

Also don't forget thereis the Earthworm Jim cancelled PSP remake. Not SNES or Genesis, but if you're interested in Earthworm Jim beta it might be fun to look up.

In my 22 years I've gone several places in America, and all the way to Japan, and I've never once even seen one of those places.

Those Mortal Kombat ones look pretty interesting, especially the debug versions and the Enhanced Trilogy hack for PC.

Very nice info there. All of my MK hacking experience is with the arcade version, and admittedly isn't much because it crashes so easily.

Here are those MK Prototypes. Thanks for pointing them out, I realized I'm missing the MK1 proto without the blood fix.

Can you get me a better shot of the Japanese sign? It looks like katakana and I could probably translate it if it were a bit more readable. If Glitterberri is around she might could get it.
