| Many of those games in your SMD document have had their button cheats or debug modes found. Gaming sites like GameFAQs and GameWinners house a lot of new and unknown codes (GameWinners.com especially). However, a lot of them are fake to an extent that the methods of activating them is wrong. I'm not the bragging type, but I found all of the button cheats for the Vectorman games and a couple others posted on tcrf.net (MediEvil and Crash Bandicoot, for example). But as I was skimming through the document, something told me to check that Aaahh! Real Monsters game. I had a look at its entry on the wiki, and saw that picture of Jim Schuler and Dave Connelly. That picture was also used for a hidden scrapbook video on a Saturn game of theirs. I'll find the game and record a video of it. |

| This is a copy and paste of my post from the GSHI (now GameHacking.org) forums: I was playing a little bit of both games and remembered a button cheat I found for both that either did nothing (Earthworm Jim), or froze the game (Earthworm Jim 2). Based on the cheat id's, they are meant to perform the same function. It could be the "Suicide" cheat found in the PSX (GameShark codes will be released) and Saturn versions, or a level warp of some kind. Here are the codes for each game: Earthworm Jim Unknown: Pause game play and press A, B, X, Y(2), X, B, A. Earthworm Jim 2 Unknown: Pause game play and press A, B, X, Select(2), X, B, A. It would be great to find out the purpose of these. @ Phugolz: I didn't find any GG codes to do so on the GSHI. |

| It's true for the first TimeSplitters game. I had a quick look at the game a while back (PAL version). They are lengthy just like the GoldenEye cheats. I couldn't get them to work, though (5 or 6 lengthy ones). I've never played this game before and just decided to take a quick peek at the code out of curiosity. The buttons look to be coded using Normal Joker command values. I don't have the game with me anymore, but you can open the SLUS or SLES file on the disc in PS2DIS. Search for the label "cheats" without quotes (there is more than one). The code is fully labeled, so you will not have a problem figuring out what does what. Poke away! |

| If I recall correctly, Parasyte was the founder of Stud Muffin. He posted his find on the old GSCentral forums back in '04 or '05. The complete method wasn't released at the time (unknown to him); just a PAR code and the initials to enter. A lot of cool finds, Mattrizzle! |

| If anyone has the Japanese version, I can find the button cheats for it, too. I just have a feeling they're different for this version. There was at one point a level called 'Programmers's Playground' (spelled like that in the coding). It's listed in the demo and retail versions. I'm hoping it's present in drx' build of the game. |

Thanks for this online reminder. I was planning on doing this for a while now (I wasn't aware of this site at the time of my post on Hidden-Palace). Here is my post from the Hidden-Palace forums. I uploaded a video on my YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KStn-G4Czhk These pics are from Vectorman 2 (Prototype - Aug 15, 1996):
I don't recall seeing this weapon in the retail version:
No need to enter the weapon code X times like the retail:
These codes will also work for the August 16 and 19 builds. The builds from August 26 through the 28 use the retail version cheats. Level Select: Press X on a 6 button controller at the options screen, or during gameplay. You can also view the credits and press Start. Weapon Select, Infinite Ammo, and Full Health: Press Y on a 6 button controller during gameplay. The weapons cycle in this order: M Ball, Rapid Laser Beam, Energy Shot, Super Shot, Overkill, Pulse Beam, Tick Punch, G Shot, Fireball and Shield. Note: Most of these are missing in the August 16 and 19 builds. Cursor Mode: Pause the game and press C, A, Left(2), A, C, A, B. Repeat the code to disable it. Map Coordinates 1: Pause the game and press B, A, Left(2). Repeat the code to disable it. Map Coordinates 2: Pause the game and press Left, Up, A, Up. Repeat the code to disable it. Map Coordinates 3: Pause the game and press B, A, Left, Down. Repeat the code to disable it. Full Health: Pause the game and press A, B, Right, A, C, A, Down, A, B, Right, A. Slow Motion: Pause the game and press Down, Right, A, C, Up, Left, A. The game will slow down when Vectorman is hit. Repeat the code to disable it. Unknown Meter: Pause the game and press A, Left, A, B, A, Mode, A on a 6 button controller. A meter will appear under your score. I think this meter has something to do with the VRAM. Restart Level: Pause the game and press Left(2), A, Mode, A on a 6 button controller. Sample/Keith's Test level codes: Cursor Mode (Version 2): Press Z on a 6 button controller during gameplay. You can move anywhere in the level. Press Z to place Vectorman. Level Editor: Press Z on a 6 button controller during gameplay. Then, press the B button to scroll through the sprites, and A to insert them. These are leftovers from Vectorman: Unknown Cheat (disabled): Press B, Up, B(2), A at the options screen. You'll hear the 'score multiplier' SFX to know it's enabled. I have no idea what it does. Repeat the code to disable it. The PAR (Pro Action Replay) code is FFE810:0001 (retail version). Enable it at the title screen to avoid conflicts with the Sega intro. Unknown Cheat 2 (disabled?): Press C, A, Left(2), A, B, A, Down, B, A, B, Y, Down, Up, Mode, B (spells CALL A BAD BABY DUMB) on a 6 button controller. The Vectorman 2 version of this code is C, Right, Y, B, A, B, Y, C, Right, Y (spells CRY BABY CRY) on a 6 button controller. I have entered this code everywhere with no confirmation of it doing anything. Unknown Cheat 3 (disabled): Press A, B(2), A, Down, A, B(2), A. This was the debug menu code for Vectorman. |

Great! I have no idea what the other 'Unknown' code does. The in-game reset cheat (Select + Start) will disable all activate cheats and require activation again.
Unknown Cheat 1 7E004304* * Set to 4 when the second tune plays. Reverts back to zero afterwards. The purpose of the cheat may be to simply hear this second tune. Don't use it as a code, though. You will have a constant black screen if you do. Cheat buffer: 7E00F8. Each time the correct button is inputted, the value will increase by 2.
Cheat buffer (all three): 7E00F4. Each time the correct button is inputted, the value will increase by 2. Stage Select is acknowledged at 1E; Debug Mode at 32. Unknown Cheat 2 7E00F204* 7E00F304 Stage Select Enabled 7E00F204* 7E00F344 Debug Mode Enabled 7E00F204* 7E00F35D * This is set to 4 for each cheat. The other address works fine by itself, but I use them both just in case. |

| I apologize for the lack of an update on my progress, but I found the coding for each of the debug functions. A new one I found was for beta v2. When you press Circle on controller 2, the stage will reset. This function is available in v1 and called many times (8 times as opposed to once in v2), but there is no button press to activate it. However, there is a flag available in the function that can be forced via a joker command (need to confirm, but I'm most likely certain of it). The "CP" and "Page Select" modes don't have any button combinations to be accessed in v1. There is an in-game reset function for both protos: press L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 + Start. I have not tried loading the "Object Test" and "Sound Test" modes yet. The "Stage Select" code has also been revised to access the levels (if I don't have the time to map the values any further, I'll post the revised code for you folks to do so). I've also been wondering if anyone has messed around with these protos since my last post? Any new findings? |

Last month, Matthew Callis, of SuperFamicom.org sent me a list of games he found that displayed CPU/PPU1/PPU2 information. The method to activate them were unknown to him. So, I decided to take on the task by figuring out how. This is the list he sent me with my notes added in the brackets. The ones with no note at the end, I wasn't able to find.
The codes: Sengoku no Hasha: Tenka Fubu he no Michi (Japan) Diagnostic Mode: Hold L + R on controller one while powering on the console. Test Card: Hold Select + Start on controller one while powering on the console. Press Select to toggle between displays. Masters - Harukanaru Augusta 2 (Japan) http://superfamicom.org/translations/info/devils-course-golf-japanese-debug Follow the same steps for Devil's Course Golf / Wicked 18. The only difference is the name to input in slot 10: "T&E Soft". New 3D Golf Simulation - Pebble Beach no Hatou (Japan) http://superfamicom.org/translations/info/devils-course-golf-japanese-debug "T&ESOFT" as well. True Golf Classics - Pebble Beach Golf Links (Europe) http://superfamicom.org/translations/info/devils-course-golf-japanese-debug "T&ESOFT" as well. This version has another secret and I don't know what it does: "HONMONO" True Golf Classics - Pebble Beach Golf Links (USA) http://superfamicom.org/translations/info/devils-course-golf-japanese-debug "T&ESOFT" as well. Shien - The Blade Chaser (J) Debug Mode: Press Up(6), Up + X, X(6) on controller two at the title screen. Use controller two to navigate and control the menu. Press Start to accept any changes made and to return to the title screen. Invincible: Select 'Game Mode' in the "Debug Mode" options and change it to 'No Hit'. Shien's Revenge (U) and Shien's Revenge (U) (Beta) Debug Mode: Press Up(7), X(7) on controller two at the title screen. Use controller two to navigate and control the menu. Press Start to accept any changes made and to return to the title screen. Invincible: Select 'Game Mode' in the "Debug Mode" options and change it to 'No Hit'. |

| I rather this site not be forgotten, as some codes I've found and thought to be unknown, were actually posted there years ago (some finds dated back to '04!). It will also save many of us a lot of time from digging in a ROM to find new cheats, and focus on exploring for hidden text, sounds, etc. See the "Codes, secrets and the passage" section. http://babelfish.yahoo.com/translate_url?doit=done&tt=url&intl=1&fr=bf-home&trurl=http%3A%2F%2Fforum.emu-russia.net%2Fviewforum.php%3Ff%3D11%26sid%3D68a37813441de4606a89fabde668dbd1&lp=ru_en&btnTrUrl=Translate |
