Well, the name of the ROM claims that this is a Beta, but even if it's not, it's STILL a Prototype.
And yes, I misspelled Monster as "Monser", but this was just my clumsyness.

Remember, the name of the ROM was most likely assigned by someone dumping the data from a cartridge. They don't know any better than we do what the developers called that prototype version of the game.
Okay, so let's call it a prototype, but I can NOT change the name of the topic.

Hm, I wonder how the "Sonic"-Mutant was supposed to look like...
...but now something completely different:
The Legendary Starfy actaully has got a whopping 3 unused costumes (transformations). And here they are:
http://www.spriters-resource.com/ds/thelegendarystarfy/sheet/40726
The Cockroach Costume ("Starroach" ?) is weird in following terms:
-There are front frames.
-Starfy uses an unique expression, which isn't used anywhere else.
-There is no Starly Version of that costume. There are only 2 reasons:
>Starly wasn't planed to appaer in that game as a playable character at first
>This costume was scrapped very early
This Costume resembles the Roostar costume most. Maybe Roostar is even based of that Cockroach Costume.

http://www.spriters-resource.com/ds/thelegendarystarfy/sheet/41299
The Frog Costume ("Frogstar" ?) is more finished, because it also has got a Starly Version. Probably scrapped in favor of Starpedo.
http://www.spriters-resource.com/ds/thelegendarystarfy/sheet/40728
http://www.spriters-resource.com/ds/thelegendarystarfy/sheet/41300
This costume is so weird, that I don't even want to COMMENT about that...

I'm pretty sure FCEUX works fine for most people, otherwise it wouldn't be so popular. Its Vsync code is screwy and doesn't work well on either of my systems (would that explain your framerate issues?), but if I leave it off everything's fine.
Nestopia is great and all, but a) it has no debugger and b) it has more input lag than FCEUX, especially in fullscreen mode (people have tried to fix this, with disastrous results).
Nestopia works fine for me, especially on fullscreen, but FCEUX not.
However, the GBA-Port of MegaMan 2 has got the same issues...
I tested FCEUX on MegaMan 2 and Super Mario Bros. 3 (the framerate of SMB3 is a bit better than the framerate of MM2).

I have noticed that our wiki page to that prototype doesn't has got any screenshots, but X-Cult has screenshots. I hope, it helps...

And the other one?
Maybe a prototype version of an enemy from RockMan World 5 (forgot it's name)?

Sorry, but you still could tell me that you are busy.
About adding them myself, just look how I tried to do a Wiki page of MM2PF. It just looks awful. And the worst thing: I can't even do it better!

Just converting a JPEG into a PNG doesn't restore the information that was lost due to compression, though.
I just have tested it, now the picture looks a lot better now!

Trust the people who actually know what they're talking about, okay?
okay...
...I should learn more about converting formats before posting anything in this thread...
