that might have been me, but i don't dislike 3:2 necessarily, i mostly dislike it in photography, where 3:2 had become a standard because of 35mm film (i generally shoot in 4:3 and use compacts, even when i'm doing commercial photoshoots)

i actually haven't tried 3:2 in depth yet, but i find myself most productive in 4:3. i'm getting a 3:2 (2160x1440) laptop soon, so i'll see how it compares to my experiences with 1400x1050 laptops. i do wish they made 1400x1050 laptops still though...

a bonus to 3:2, though, is you can in theory play Game Boy Advance games full screen without any letterboxing

in some dialects of croatian, kaj (sounds like `kai') means `what'. they call these dialects `kajkavian'. i think of this whenever i see your name

(`kaj' also means `what' in slovene)

yeah i've been pronouncing it as /kaj/ this whole time, it just made sense to me

i think the discrepancies arise from j not usually representing [dʒ] in english in coda positions—it just isn't very many English words, except in Arabic loanwords like `taj'. i guess i can see why some people would then think it's pronounced /kɑːdʒ/

so i just end up reading j as some glide, hence something like /kaj/

actually i like KDE more the further back you go. something about that quasi-brutalist simplicity feels more intuitive to me

although—perhaps contradictory to what i just said—i'd probably try running enlightenment if i were to use linux again

i wouldn't even say just useful but essential. there were a lot of projects that would have been significantly more complicated to work on and edit outside of the collaborative environment of Google Docs. i almost feel like the collaboration aspect is the main reason anyone `should' be using Google Docs (that and the fact that it's cross-platform)

that said i actually really feel like it's a poor implementation of word processing and does not have enough features to suit my needs, and also i hate using anything in my browser because browsers are such memory and processor hogs. i try to have my browser open as little as possible, if i can help it, especially if i need to be focusing on something else.

[but another trend, on this line, that i hate even more are `desktop clients' that are actually some hacked browser that loads the page but doesn't really give significant improvements in resource usage. when i see this, i wonder what's the point]

i have a mario fic published, but it was intended to be a criticism of the particular community i was in (actually they loved it, so maybe i just said what was on everyone's mind already)

but what does it mean to be engaged in a fandom anyway? to allow one's mind wander into an imagined world? or is it more general and can even include objects that don't have `narratives' in the sense media fandoms do? one could say i'm in the `Panasonic laptop fandom' (which is a real thing) even though i don't actively participate in it—i don't per se mingle with other enthusiasts.

i've also been part of some forums for Kyocera and Yashica cameras. i have a fairly respectable collection of Kyocera digital cameras, but idk if i'd consider myself part of a `fandom'

I've tried playing that game so many times and I've never really gotten forward momentum on it. Even the redo on the DS that had a partial translation never really did well for me (though it has issues running on the DS bootloders through TWL).

it's honestly really hard for me to keep going, it feels like a step backwards from FFL2 (and an even greater step backwards after playing Link's Awakening again). i definitely couldn't get into the remake
