yeah me too, i loved it since it came out.

i keep tweaking this layout. i added some subtle outlines and contrastive borders to give it a bit more structure—it was a bit too flat before. there's more i'd like to do, such as adding gaussian blur, but that isn't supported in Firefox yet, so i'm calling it good for now i guess. thinking it over, perhaps layout construction is never finished, just abandoned

when i look back at my previous layout, i'm surprised by how obviously it appears inspired by tech minimalism and Windows Metro. worse yet, i can't remember if it's accidental or intentional(/parodic).

i'm getting a new laptop soon and i'm trying to decide whether to run W11 or keep W10 on it. seems like there's a lot of pushback against W11. is that different? i figure, since it's a recent machine and new and all, the installation process gotta be fairly smooth and clean.

i would run linux, but so much of my workflow depends on Windows now. this is how one is trapped, i suppose. i do miss arch. i'd probably go back to my roots and run enlightenment in such a case.

reincarnation is more common of a theme for my cultural background, and i feel like that is more `instilled' in me. but i don't really have any spiritual beliefs about an afterlife itself

storms dudley and eunice have come and brought tons of strong winds but not that much rain. they've cancelled all trains in the country today with a lot of places probably closing early because of that. from inside, the drama is nice to witness, but i wish it'd rain some more..

make your post without a layout (use the Disable Layout button) and then go ahead and edit it so you have someone else's layout. or just paste the layout info into your post directly, as i'm doing. i went ahead and got a layout from an inactive user.

what will it be like when we wear each others' layouts? can you guess whose layout it was?

This is the same aesthetic I was going for when I made the 2020 version of my tilde.town homepage! Not sure I succeeded, but I'm glad I know the name of it now.
i think you did! the gloss and lightness are key! i don't think there's any need for it to be so faithful. i lean quite heavily into Oxygen and Aero, but that's just how i am

yeah i think Aero was the greatest implementation of it. i got into Compiz Fusion just to try to replicate it but it still didn't match. such a well thought out interface with a lot of intricacies.

these days i try to get 8-9 hours of sleep. i notice i need that much every day in order to maintain health. seems to have a compounding effect—it takes me days to recover from sleeping less than the optimal amount now. but i suppose i've learned to deal with it by being more sensitive to when my body needs rest and taking the time to nap or just lie down, etc.

i've come to really appreciate quieter, slower moments, disconnection, self-reflection, silence…
