i'm going to bump this age old thread to say i watched
A Bride for Rip van Winkle (2016, dir. Shunji Iwai) and did not expect to love it as much as i did. i was really sure i was going to find it mediocre and meandering, especially considering its 3-hr run time, but that was not the case at all. a sublime portrait of loneliness.
