I have plenty of time to relax during the summer and when I get out of school. School time is business time for me, no screwing around. besides, if I get this university and job, i'll be pulling in enough money to go wherever I want.

A lot of math teachers only care whether you do the homework, they don't care if the answers are correct except on tests and often a small number of homework problems.

I'm reminded of a math teacher I had once who, when I accidentally handed in the wrong assignment, just checked it off anyway... that kind of ruined my motivation to do the homework in that class, though...

I used it a lot.

Then I got Professor Vogt, who would auto-fail you if you used what he deemed to be too many words. Everyone failed his first essay. I dropped and came close to suicide. (not just over that, he was incredibly tough all around, as was another teacher I had)

Same here, I hate making long winded essays. If I can get the same point across in a few sentences, why should I be punished for not doing enough?

Good point. It used to be like that. We got more done quickly, but there was always the risk of someone going on a power spree. These days, doing something without the entire community approving of it is considered "power abuse", so I'm not sure which is better.

Dictatorship is a relic of the old days, democracy seems to be the only system that works on the internet. still, having to wait for a vote on everything is pretty bad.
