You're probably going to be getting crashes right about now if you liberally use MSN. Seems there's been a security update of sorts that doesn't allow it to run right.

So now, after a freaking long time, they're releasing a new version (3.1.7.0).

Nothing more than that, just thought I'd let you know. And to those of you who have Pro like me...my sympathies. :\

Oddly enough I don't own a single game from EA. I may have owned one back on the SNES and that was when I had NBA Live '98 and Acclaim was worth the time with NBA JAM.

I have more games owned by ATLUS than I think any other...[looks] That or KONAMI.

And that last one you have me to thank for.

Just going through a few ideas for StepMania sims (at 140 over three years which will likely added to in a few weeks after I settle into this new job). Got a few ideas but nothing really to go on so far. Most of these ideas can start from The MOD Archive. These can all be found on the net without much trouble (I'd link if I had stuff in front of me). I've had these in mind:

DreamSection - System Overload

Nice and straightforward XM piece. Good, upbeat pace for something to be put to dance moves (153BPM). The only real problem is that I'm going to have to destroy some repetitiveness in the song to cut it down to an acceptable piece. The song suffers from that a bit.

Skaven/S.S.H. - Razorback (No. 666 Mix)

Remix of a great track from Unreal Tournament. The original mod file was created by Skaven for use in the game (which, if you don't really know him, you may have heard some of the things he's done in games) but this was redone by S.S.H. who's rather popular for remixes of game music. The original still has its merit over this one at points (especially, again, on the repetitive side) but I've cut it down to appropriate length to be used in the game and I think it'd do a good job. A little over the top in beat, but not bad.

aNARKY/TKB - Psycho Desert

Badass XM file. Nice rock flow that keeps alive for the entire 7 minute run. This is one of those that I wouldn't mind simming the whole thing of if I sincerely had the time but it may lose a few in terms of its ungodly length and stream that it would leave behind. At least it'd keep the people awake for that length of time, especially towards the end.

Floppi - jättimarsu

As I'm told by Bisqwit, it means 'giant guinea pig' or something. Guess that's par for the course for someone who makes something like Lyle in Cube Sector and Free Cow. This is the not included, not in-game version of it. The other one is a short, off-key and slower beat version of it. This one kicks more ass, I think.

laamaa - nelly in 8bit land

As the title may imply, it's another hit at chiptunes. This one's a bit short, but I think the coolness aside would make for a cool short/warm-up sim. Not much else to say except you'd have to hear it yourself.

!Cube/Trauma + SCS*TRC - Scotchman in a Skirt

I know...the name implies odd choice. Closest thing I could find to having something like bag and not sucking. Been actually considering this one for quite some time because of the fact that it's not half bad and more than decent in terms of presentation, which is something that I found hard to believe when I first downloaded this on a whim.

KaW (remix by Kyrn) - Paradox (Disarray Mix)

Nice, progressively harder beat here. Haven't heard the original to know what it sounds like but this sounds pretty darn good. The one song that got me started on this author was a remix of A from DDR and Monolith from ITG entitled 'Monolith (Renaissance Mix)'. Picked up some pretty decent reviews on release.

Detach - Transistor [Omega Alpha Mix]

Did Epsilon Beta mix some time ago. The main key to the series, so far, is that the beat gets progressively faster from the start to finish. At least, thus far. The only thing is that it differs in HOW it progresses. This one's more or less based off of Fascination MAXX than anything else and ends up being a tad repetitive but the speed influence makes it worth my time.

DJ Bouche - 7x

This one you'll probably have some trouble finding...as well as a lot by him these days (he still owes me a remix from years ago). Nice little up-and-down song he has. I'll need to cut it for my use, but he has a beta that he gave me (or near DDR length) and I can use that for my cut to smooth it out.

There are some others, but I'd go on forever...

Though that's not a bad piece whatsoever, if you want an original take on 'dramatic final battle' I'd probably go with Unrestrained Struggle from Valkyrie Profile 2.

I'd agree with the Chicken Sandwich remark depending on the day.

Most of mine are 'near complete inhalation on first bite'.

That said, I can take out 3 McDonald's Cheeseburgers in 5 minutes without really thinking about it. It's not that I'm trying to rush or anything but that's about the speed I do it at all the time I tend to be excessively hungry right around lunch.

If I was really trying, I could probably do it in under 2 no problem.

3.9 is absolutely necessary.

3.9.5 or variants of it are necessary for files with rolls or SMO. Otherwise you will crash.

4.0 is dogshit. Don't download it.
