Forum-based roleplaying basically cultivated most of my writing skills and a significant part of my current ongoing group of friends. One forum in particular was directly responsible for keeping me sane (as mad as it drove me many times) and introducing me to a bunch of really awesome people who became close friends of mine, one of whom introduced me to Jul. Another of my friends from that forum introduced me to another forum, where it turns out there are also several people from Jul in some parts of it.
The whole six degrees of separation thing is really more like three degrees of separation in the hyper-connected era. |

I finally did a post layout, based on the one RanAS posted a page back. RanAS, I hope this derivative is okay with you; let me know if it's not and I'll do something different.
The graphics and command line syntax are from a hobby OS project of mine that one day I will set free upon the world to a resounding "okay, but why?"
e: Ooh. Is there a list of the variables of sorts available for use in post layouts? I've seen some layouts in the past with things like post count, what post number for the user a post is, etc.
e2: never mind, found the relevant file in the github repo. ____________________ Never underestimate the bandwidth of a station wagon full of tapes hurtling down the freeway.

Oh man that's a blast from the past.
Let's see. Desktop is running Windows 10 Pro, laptop is running Windows 10 Pro (you can probably see a theme here). Server is running ESXi 6.5. VMs on desktop include Windows 10 Pro, Windows 7 Pro, OpenBSD 6.1 (need to upgrade to 6.2), some odd flavour of Linux I was trying to fiddle with KVM in, latest development build of Araxes (my hobby OS project), and a couple NT 3.1 servers and workstations. VMs on server are Windows Server 2016, a couple Windows 7 Pro VMs, Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, another Araxes test environment, and a Cisco Unified Communications Manager 11.5 + Cisco Unity Connection 11.5 lab. ____________________ Never underestimate the bandwidth of a station wagon full of tapes hurtling down the freeway.

Lots of people don't get poutine. A great many of these people have only had "poutine" in some shitty US diner where they sprinkled the fries with shredded cheese and slapped a pile of gelatinous chicken gravy on top.
Fries (preferably thicker cut; 1cm diameter will do), cheese curds, liquid but not too runny pork or beef gravy. Gravy must be hot enough to help melt the curds slightly.
This is a very simple dish yet holy moly I have seen inventive ways of cocking it up. ____________________ Never underestimate the bandwidth of a station wagon full of tapes hurtling down the freeway.
