I didn't start watching until it had started its fifth season, but I "acquired" all the previous episodes and watched them in order before I started watching the new episodes.

I just dump all my clothes together in single load. But I buy very cheap clothes, so on the off chance I manage just the wrong combination of water temperature and detergent strength so I mess something up, I'll only be out maybe $1.50. Although I have plenty of other things to make me feel old. Like buying milk and digging to the back of the shelf to find the one with the latest expiration date. Or just generally worrying about money and bills. And doing my taxes. Which I'm working on right now, and not the normal state and federal income taxes, I'm well beyond that. I'm on to state sales, use and withholding taxes. Also, I think I'm getting one of those bad backs I always heard adults talk about.

Why not just shared the connection with whatever computer you're using now? It seems easier then disconnecting one to use the other.

It's not like she just decided to stab her kid 100 times because she wouldn't pick up her toys. This is a mental health issue. Her actions are the result of severe paranoid delusions. Hopefully she'll get the help and medication she needs.

If you have or can get a cable with a female serial connection on both ends, you should be able to set up a direct cable connection host on the Windows machine, and "dial out" to it from the Linux machine (it should treat the cable itself like a modem since it's connected to the COM port). I've never done it between a Linux and Windows, but it work pretty good between Windows machines.

The serial port on your computer is the one that looks similar to where you plug your monitor in, only with pins instead of holes. They used to be referred to as COM ports, and was the standard connector for external modems. So now, even when a modem is internal modem is plug into a PCI the system creates a virtual COM port to connect to it through and dial out. So if a cable connects two computers through their serial ports, the computers will treat the cable like a modem (called a null modem) and allow you to "dial out" to the other computer. Alternatively, if you have a USB cable with male A connectors on both ends, you can install a virtual COM port driver on both computers, and you'll be able to dial out to the other computer through that. I think a segmentation fault is another way of saying protection fault. Basically the program is trying to access memory it isn't allowed to. I'm not really sure what would cause it, but it may be that you're running out of swap space. All I can really suggest is to try building an earlier version and see if it works any better.

Dr Pepper has what I guess is supposed to be a "spicy" taste to it. But it's more of a chemical-like after taste to me, like they gave every can a couple of sprays of Raid before it left the factory.

I wouldn't go any higher than "Sudden Death". I've had insanity sauce a few times, at 180,000 Scoville units. And it's just ridiculous. I couldn't imagine what 1.1 million would be like.

Well, I guess I can kind of imagine, which is exactly why I would never try it. I like hot food, because it adds something to flavor of a dish. Beyond a certain point it's just masochism, though.

Yeah, I don't know how you could taste anything with that level of heat. Not just in the sauce itself, but anything else for the next 20 minutes. I could see using it as an ingredient, though. I used to add a couple of caps full of insanity sauce to a small pot of chili. With the jalapenos already in it it would give just the right amount of heat. I must have gotten a little on my finger once though, and I made the mistake of rubbing my eye.

I made a point of disabling texting on my phone. Without paying extra for an unlimited plan, you actually have to pay if someone sends you a text, even if you don't read it. Having you're bill increase based on other peoples actions is just dumb. I never really saw the point anyway. If something has a speaker and microphone, and no keyboard, that tells me I should talk into it.

There should be penalties for being late or cheating, but it shouldn't have anything to do with grades. Grades should only be used to track a students progress learning. Incorporating it as part of a punishment/rewards system is one of the major problems with our school systems.

The first priority of a school should to educate the students. Sure, they can teach responsibility and organization as well, but it shouldn't interfere with that first priority. The fact that schools don't realize this is why they keep graduating a steady stream of morons. |

Anything that effects a students grade that doesn't reflect that is counterproductive. Originally posted by Xkeeper Cheating just means the student copied something from another student. It doesn't mean they have no concept of the material being taught. They should simply make the student retake the test, and punish them some other way. |

Originally posted by Xkeeper Exactly. Suspensions are for punishment. Grades are measuring progress. Using grades for punishment, regardless of what the punishment is for, is stupid. Originally posted by Xkeeper What are you talking about? I didn't say anything even remotely like that. I didn't say cheating should result in an automatic A, anymore than it should result in an automatic F. I said they should be made to retake the test and be punished some other way. |
