No it isn't. I'm sure there's all different variables to be considered, your dishwasher's age, the how it heats the water, how you go about hand washing your dishes...etc. At most one way may come out a bit more efficient then the other, in terms of water, electricity, and/or gas use. "Several times", though is quite a stretch. What isn't variable, though, is that when your sink drains, it doesn't release phosphates into the environment, when your dishwasher drains it does. You know, assuming you refuse to use the phosphate free stuff.

So how does it work, do the individual keys break off like the little bars that make up a Hershey bar?

I'm not really a supporter of PETA. I agree with some of their positions, but not all. And I don't really agree with any of their methods. But, I really can't see equating the humane euthanasia performed by PETA, with the torture and abuse they fight against.

Originally posted by Skreeny I wouldn't start smoking because it's addictive, causes lung cancer, heart disease, chronic respiratory problems, and stains teeth. But maybe that's just me. The vast majority of smokers start as minors (I know that's true, and if pressed, I'll take the 30 seconds or so to actually look a supporting statistic, otherwise you'll just have to take my word for it). Minors of course can't buy cigarettes regardless of the price. I'm not saying increasing the cigarette tax won't lead to a small amount of people kicking the habit, or few less people picking it up. I saying that small benefit isn't worth the significant burden added to those who are to addicted to quit. |

With the exception of Burger King I don't think any of the restaurants mentioned in this thread have stores within a 25 mile radius of me. I never even heard of Waffle House or Huddle House until this thread. I've never eaten at an IHOP, Perkins, or Bob Evans. I ate at a Denny's in Chicago once, it was kind of dirty and the waitress was rude.

Obviously, the best security tool is common sense. Although it's entirely possible that a system can become infected through a newly discovered vulnerability in a program without any help from the user, most of the time it happens when the user clicks "ok" or "accept" without reading or understanding what they're agreeing to. But connecting your system to the internet without a decent antivirus and firewall program is like driving around without a seat belt. If you're a good driver, 99.9% it won't matter, but that .1% is bad enough. Especially if you have any type of sensitive information on your computer. For having multiply antiviruses installed, its just a matter of setting up exceptions so they don't scan each other's quarantine folders, and making sure background and start up scans are disabled on all but one.

I think technically General American is the most normal accent, which is around Southern Iowa. It's the most normal, in that, when someone is trying to "drop their accent", that's what they try to sound like.

I prefer Coke. It's not overly sweet, and has more of a flavor to it, while Pepsi just tastes sugary. To be honest though, the actual difference in taste is rather minor, and I'll gladly drink either if I'm thirsty. Then again, I normally just buy the store brand anyway.

It's most likely another program accessing the drive while scandisk is working. Restart in safe mode, ctrl alt del all on unnecessary programs (including explorer), and run defrag from there. Edit: Also, make sure you also disable your screensaver.

I tried washing out my mug earlier so I could get more coffee. I was holding it in one hand by the handle, and I pushed a soapy washcloth in with the other. I guess I misjudged the resistance I would get with the washcloth, as well as the strength of the handle, because as soon as I pushed the washcloth in the handle tore right off, and the sharp remaining edge slammed into my index finger and gave me a nasty gash. I know I have an odd sense of humor, but I found this both hilarious and awful. It was hilarious because, as bad as it is to screw up something as simple as washing out a mug is, it's just amazing to fail so spectacularly as to actually end up bleeding. It was awful because that was my only coffee mug, well that and the bleeding thing again. Originally posted by Pyrohno This is exactly what I did everyday when I worked second shift. Well, up until my start time was moved to 3pm, then I started waking up at 2pm. |
