Because many people want to know how to edit enemies with the NSMBe5.2, I made a tutorial.

1. SEARCH FOR ENEMY FILES AND OPEN THEM

First, go to the file-browser. Then open the "root" folder and search the "obj" folder. Open it and you can see many files. This files are 2D images for the game. The goomba for example is a 2D image. Then search for "I_kuribo256_ncg.bin" and make a doubble click on it. This file is the goomba. For now you can't see anything.

2. OPEN PALLETTES AND IMPORT THEM

Now, search for the "I_enemy256_ncl.bin" file and open it (doubbel-click). Then click on the button "add all". Close the window and search for the other "..._ncl.bin" files.
Do the same with this files. The "..._ncl.bin files are the pallettes for the texture editor.

3. SETTINGS AND EDIT

Go into the Texture editor. You can see in the list many pallettes. Click on the goomba file and set the upper label to 4 and choose the right pallette until the right colors are shown. Now the Goomba is editable. Have FUN!

Cool, But note that the enemies have the same data. Means: if you make the goomba to a stickman, the stickman must have the same animations

I mean, if the animation of the goomba comes, when it is flattened and you have a other animation, it looks strange.

When I open the pallet viewer, I get ERROR and then the ncl listing. When the actual editor opens, I see colors for the pallet on the right, but nothing in the editor image area.

In your explanation you say to open other ncl bin objects. I tried that, and still no image in the editor. There must be a step in between. Or, can you be more specific with the ncl bin portion of your directions?

...And thank you for adding the tutorial as well.

The error is not normal... But in the editor window, you must click on a pallette an THAN on the enemy data That should work ;D

It IS possible, but you must choose NSMBe 5.2 ;D And don't edit with Photoshop or something else. When you export, the color pallette will be changed

Look on the Grasland Tileset, you have to put a block under the ramp. Then it should work. I think the block has a own Behavior, too.

Bug report:

-Add a sprite then you must click TWICE to change sprite and change the settings
-If change sprite Sets, it dont changes from red to normal
-If you close the "Open rom window" you get many errors.
