I only recently learned of the splendid Wikification of The Cutting Room Floor. It's awesome! I even wanted to add something... See, way, way, way back I happened to play a beta version of SML2: 6 Golden Coins in the "Nintendo Power Pod" at Ontario Place. It was a bit of a confusing thing at the time; all the zones were blocked off except for the Tree Zone, where all of the Koopas were replaced with snails for some reason. One of the things I distinctly remember is the eyes, though, as discussed in http://wiki.rustedlogic.net/Super_Mario_Land_2:_6_Golden_Coins . See, instead of a point outside of the tree on the map screen, the second level used to actually be inside the tree stump - and when you stood on it, all you would see would be Mario's blinking eyes staring out from the darkness. I was all about to add this little description when it occurred to me that filling the site with rumor and hearsay might be undesirable, what with no one ever having found a copy of this beta of SML2. So is there a policy on this sort of thing? |
