Agh. Sorry for the delay; Real Life has been killing me, lately. ![]() Okay, here are the codes. I should note that yes, this was the product of entering an actual word into the Game Genie, and seeing if anything happened, so it's probably a bit embarrassing. ;; However, it's just the result of watching WAY too much MST3K, and deciding to try the word, just for fun. Honest. ![]() The primary code?
(yeah, I know, I know...) This is the one that doesn't work the same for me in emulators as it did on the original hardware. What the code originally did was allow you to select any of the weapon/Rush positions on the Start-menu weapons screen, even if you don't have those weapons. Only the unframed icon for each weapon will show if you 'highlight' an weapon/adapter you don't have. You can select the 'blank' weapons/adapters; they each start with no energy, but you can refill them normally with the blue weapon capsules, and the system will remember however much energy each weapon has (naturally). The weapon names/icons won't appear normally on the weapons screen unless you actually use the weapon/adapter. (If it has any other effects, I'm not sure.) The secondary code:
This version of the code seems to work in emulators, but it's limited as opposed to the code above - you can only select blank spots on the weapons menu to the left or right of a weapon/adapter that's already there. (For example, on starting a new game, you can only select the Dive and Toad weapons.) ...I guess you can probably see one of the reasons why I haven't posted this, anywhere, all this time. Well, that, and I created it long before I had any sort of net connection, with no other worthwhile places to send it, IMHO... |

I remember it being the one I posted, because of the connection to MST3K. I wouldn't have any reason to enter POOPOO at that time. ![]() I did try the POOPOO code (can't remember if it was on FCEUX/Windows or my DC, though), a few days ago (in experimenting with the second code) but it froze the game almost immediately. Not sure why. |

I've only had their burgers, and fries, both of which are fairly good. The burgers have a whole round (and thick) slice of onion in them. ![]() Haven't seen a Whataburger in eons, unfortunately. ![]() |

Wasabi Lay's? Sure, another thing I have to try... (Not that I'm in Canada, though.) They're selling wasabi popcorn at a store nearby. Haven't tried it, yet, but I don't have high hopes for it being decent. |

There's always something appearing, every so often, that needs translation. ![]() |

Your other code, or my other code? ![]() I guess I can be relatively sure this doesn't tap into any debug functions, then. At least, for the time being. |

| Hmm... I'm surprised they haven't ported Super Metroid to the GBA or DS. (With or without anything added, like Zero Mission.) Anything conceivably preventing them from doing so, tech-wise? |

| All I know is that it worked on the original hardware, way back when... though I only used it by itself, two or three separate times. It could've been a fluke, for all I know (and probably was). ...and with my NES out of the running, I can't test to see if that fluke still happens. (Hmm... wonder if it'd work if I used a GG+cartridge combo... only tried carts alone. Most likely, it wouldn't. And I'd have to do a lot of digging just to pull it out... ) |

...but what would happen if we suddenly found some interesting dev stuff in a console peripheral, like the NES Power Glove, the U-Force (if I remember that name correctly), that SNES bazooka, etc.? ![]() |

| It's a single kanji character, yes. 豊 (hou/yuta(ka)), which can mean abundant, rich (in terms of harvests, seasons, etc.) (Hopefully, I have all of that correct... GlitterBerri? ) |

Joe: Hmm. I cut-and-pasted that from my Japanese WP, so the export-to-clipboard format's probably wrong, then. I'll have to take a look at it. I still wouldn't rule out my browser being set incorrectly, though. ![]() (What format should I ideally set it to? I'm not really sure I should use SJIS...) |

| Well, the options it gives me for export-to-clipboard format are EUC, SJIS, New JIS, Old JIS, NEC JIS, Unicode, UTF-7 and UTF-8. I probably should just remember to use my IME, then... I only use the WP because I haven't completely memorized all the kanji, and it allows me to build (and then identify) by components. ![]() ![]() I suppose we should probably check the Mega Drive version of El Viento, to see if they used the kanji/kana versions of the production staff's names, to be sure. Didn't they have a Mega CD version, too? I forget. |

Heh. Right now, it's Seamonkey on Linux. I think that's the first time I've attempted to post Japanese to the forum - and for TCRF, I just entered whatever Japanese I used directly through my IME, anyway. Yes, my post did appear (still does) correctly, to me, even though I'm clearly the only one. ![]() Haven't used IE on any of my Windows systems in eons. ![]() |

| For my browsers? I usually keep the Auto-Detect setting set to Japanese, as I visit Japanese pages often, and a number of pages' text isn't interpreted 'properly' if I don't. |

| Did the kanji in my post show up correctly, for you? (For everyone reading this, do these two lines show up correctly? Just a test of me using my IME, rather than cutting and pasting from my Japanese WP, as I did in the original post. Oops.) ç§ã®åå‰ã¯ã€è‘µã€‚ テスト |

Hrm. Stores around these parts have been starting Christmas Mania sometime in September, for the past 2-3 years. ![]() Hell, a local radio station's already been streaming nonstop Christmas music (or it SEEMS like it) for at least a week, now. I'm of the opinion they're doing it to get people sick of the music long before the holiday season. Saves some time... Heh, my sister's birthday is on December 9, as well - and it drives her mad, the way everyone thinks it's better just to wait and give her all her presents/etc. on Christmas. ![]() |

| Yeah, my browsers keep resetting themselves back to UTF-8, too. Hrm. I guess I'll have to start creating images of whatever Japanese text I want to use and use those, here, if I want to use any Japanese text. Either that or just post it on a scratch page in my user profile at TCRF and link there. (I'm only kidding. I wouldn't do that. Honest.) |

Hmm... wonder if there's anything that'll take my text and auto-convert it to HTML entities before I post... including some of those Firefox Unicode-related extensions I keep around but never really use. ![]() ...or if that's even a good idea. |

Hmm... wonder if I could get my PSX card reader working with Linux, then. It's not a DexDrive, but MadCatz hardware... and I don't think the Windows drivers were ever updated past Win9X/ME. (I do have an active Win98 tower (it's actually what I'm running Linux on ), but that's beside the point. ) |
