Gah. Never could get into AOL/IM/texting-speak (or wanted to). So any IMs or phone text-messages I send will never have any abbreviated words. ![]() |

I re-read the first four books every so often. I always keep forgetting to pick up the final book, though. ![]() Hmm.... can't remember what I thought of Adams' other books. ![]() |

Hmm... should the "Do you hate the 500 Internal Server Error messages?" box be changed, as the error page was rewritten and doesn't display that particular message? ![]() |

| They probably didn't have a good way of doing it, I'm sure. Or at least a way that wasn't cheesy-looking or expensive. For Zaphod's second head, they'd probably have to have the actor wear a prosthesis for his appearances on-screen - something simple just to mark where that other head should be, and then have the second head CG-inserted and animated. Doing that would've been costly, I'm guessing.. Not that I'm defending a movie I'm probably never going to watch. ![]() Great, now I'm going to have to see if the local bookstores have books five AND six in... |

| Do most or all of the NES emulators that currently support Game Genie codes support them fully and correctly? I've been trying to test two codes I created years ago on the actual NES+Game Genie, because I'm wondering if they might tap into a debug function. Probably not. But one of them, rather than behave how it did on the original hardware, just seems to darken the sprite colors and randomly freeze the game in the emulator (which, I'll admit, is a Nester variant on my Dreamcast... (I know, I know...)) |

What? They didn't discontinue the Code Red version of Mountain Dew, did they? I'm going to have to start stockpiling those 2-liter bottles, whenever I find them (still see them every now and then)...It's probably sad that I can't remember what Pepsi Blue tasted like (or even that mediocre Safeway clone), but CAN remember what 7up Gold tasted like. ![]() ...well, I did like the grape Mountain Dew they had, a handful of years ago. I think they tied it in at one point with Star Wars and Darth Vader. |

Originally posted by Joe Hmm... well, I'm not sure about the Nester emulators, and running it on my Dreamcast probably isn't helping. ![]() Originally posted by Joe I only have the one emulator on my Dreamcast. ![]() I'm currently experimenting with a Linux distro on my private tower, and haven't yet been able to get any NES emulators working correctly on it. ![]() The game is Mega Man IV. Interestingly, the second code (sort of a variation on the first) does work to some extent... both on MM4 and Rockman 4. Still has problems, though...I'd test it on the original hardware, but my NES has fallen victim to the gray flashing-screen problem. |

| Did they ever do anything with the Thrawn trilogy, beyond perhaps the comic books? I'd always wondered if they weren't just going to do CG movies based on the books, at some point. |

Gah, forgot about the Doritos 3Ds, too. Especially the jalapeno ones.Originally posted by Keitaro Yeah; I probably won't find anyone around these parts who could tell me why it's now so rare, here. I can still go to the stores and pick up a two-liter, but it'd be nice to have the small bottles, too. (I can get those at one or two of the nearby gas stations, but they give ALL soda extremely marked-up prices...) Originally posted by Keitaro Three times? My memory IS shot, then. I know it definitely was brought back for another run, but whether that was the third or second time, I can't be sure. ![]() Do they still sell the three-liter bottles of Pepsi? I used to get those when I lived in the Midwest, but they ceased to exist when I moved to California. ![]() |

Wonder if I could find those anywhere, locally. I was always curious about those.. Someone offered, some months ago, to get one of those 'clones' for me - a thing that looked like a Super Nintendo, but played both SNES and NES games. I had the chance to test his; it only had ports for SNES controllers, though (I still want to be able to use my old Advantage, darn it ), and was so cheap and low-quality, I didn't think it would last all that long. So, I passed.I've tried testing the game+codes on FCEUX, and the same 'problems' still occur there, with all three of the versions I tried. MM4 (PRG0), MM4 (PRG1), Rockman 4. The variant/second code (which does the same thing as the first code, except in a more limited way) seems to work to some extent, but the main code still just causes weird glitches (it'll usually, consistently make the boss dark during the intro, though) and freezes. Originally posted by rabidabid Thanks. I'm mostly just trying to see how certain things behave with the code active, however. Er... what I mean is I know they 'work' and change the weapons-screen behavior, but I was trying to examine how, exactly, it was different. Or something like that. ![]() Originally posted by rabidabid Yeah, I think I've tried that (and also trying to clean the connector, and vainly attempting to make sure all the pins aren't bent in the wrong direction). Couldn't I get another NES for about $8? ![]() (Okay, I don't know whether that's true, or not, but I'd probably end up buying another NES, at any rate. Come to think of it, I keep forgetting to buy a new soldering iron... ) |

| Actually, all the game systems, including the handhelds, have bits around for specifying the region, including all of the models of the DS. Whether or not anyone (the system manufacturer, game companies) actually does anything with it... Are we sure the DSi/XL/3DS aren't still mostly region-free (in terms of DS games) like always, and that - if it's true about Pokemon Black/White - that they're simply two of the carts that actually bother to do something with the region coding? As for me, I'm still using my original blue DS. Have to like being able to have two games immediately available without switching cartridges around. ![]() |

When playing GB/C games, it behaves much like my GBA SP. Edit: Then again, I could be wrong about the Lite. I thought I remembered testing Tetris and one or two other GB games on my sister's Lite... but I also vaguely remember hearing something about the GB/C hardware being cut from the Lite or thereabout to help keep the Lite smaller/thinner, etc. I'll have to check. The GB/C games definitely do play with no problems on my original-model DS, though. ![]() |

Okay, I retract it all. Stupid memory... time for an overhaul. Remind me to actually test something I remember before I post about it. ![]() I probably remembered myself messing with the games on my SP and transposed that onto my DS. ![]() Well, if I want to play GB/C games, I have an original GBA, the SP, and the GB Player for the GameCube. Probably should pick up a GB Color, I guess. I do have the original GB as well, but the LCD has a big black blotch covering most of it. ![]() |

I can do that. Well, okay, I'd have to move my Cube from my 22" TV and hook it up to the larger TVs... and I really should get the Cube's component cables... but, yeah, I've got everything to do just that. ![]() Not Metroid Fusion, though? (Just curious. I do have both, and would rather play Zero Mission, but.... eh.) |
