I used the palettes from the enemy-ncl.bin to color my switch green, if that helps to answer the question.
You cant save a texture in an other palette. But you can change the old one to green
This would solve your problem.

As far I know, you can't edit the animations with the texture editor. But you can edit the flat colour textures the animated enemys are using So the sprite appeats in another colour.

1) It is difficult to make the GO-BEHIND-TILES effect look good, because you have to edit the suitable NSBTX for the tile. (AND very often the colour palette) It is REALLY not easy to do that. (But NSBTX are MUCH. MUCH easier to understand than NSBMD^^)
2) What Castle? If you dont know, just click at W[any world you want] - Castle, then on the area you want to edit.

i think he wants to have the title "New Super Mario Bros. 5", because in NSMB hacking it is not that easy to change the title everytime.
For example: If he has already hacked the title screen of NSMB (that is a shit-work-.-) and has not released his hack yet and then someone other takes the name, he has to rehack the titlescreen again (another shit-work^^)

Purple and teal are the most often colours. Grey is more rarely.

And Awesome Tutwig, The hex editing was when I first discovered that by not altering the header you could play Ds Download Play. Luckily I had a compatible cart. The hex editing was implemented in r116 so download that rev and use it to test if your cart is compatible. If not you may have to wait until button above is implemented.
