When I'm old, I will have nerf/ water gun fights with my neighbors. No one will be safe from the ever-constant fear that someone is about to nail them in the back of the head.

There's no way that I'm going to be bored when I'm old. I'll make sure of it.

I could only watch the first 20 seconds of video before I realized that it was draining my IQ. They were shouting over each other, the one guy saying that the satanist didn't even know what Satan was and how he was going to teach him and...

IQ is now too low to continue typing.

Words... they... they escape me. I'm trying to come up with a sentence, but... I just can't.

I mean, really? Does she honestly believe this to be possible? Does he honestly believe her? Does he really believe that "with today’s technology, anything is possible"? Did he never get the birds and the bees?

They have to be joking. This has to be a "let's see how many people think we're serious" prank.

In most of my dreams, I'm solving a problem. Whether it's with charisma, wits, or violence, eh, who knows? Sometimes problems in my dreams get solved with all three! Something like, convince person to let me do slightly illegal thing without punishment (king, mayor, etc), get through the forest, building etc, and kill all those who try to get in my way. Others are dreams about mundane things, like needing to have a kitty come over so I can pet it, but it won't, so I'll chase it around the house (this tends to happen in real life too my kitties don't like snuggle cuddles ;_

I wanted to make chili cheese nachos, but we were all out of tortilla chips.

So I used potato chips instead. Yay improvisation!

It kinda worked, too.

Not the best combination, but I was really craving both.

Earlier, I googled a svchost.exe service (it was using an ungodly amount of memory/cpu). I was trying to see if others had the problem/how they made it stop, but it's calmed down now.

In addition, he says that Playstations, iPads, and other electronic devices that can be used for both information and entertainment often distract us more than they enlighten us.

Thoughts? He seems to be saying that they prevent us from looking at information we should be, and instead divert our attention to less productive things.

I personally see it as a two-edged sword. True, some people can spend too much time gaming or visiting blogs and tvtropes and such, but at the same time you learn far more than you would from any textbook (whose information is limited and cannot be updated once printed). It really depends on the person and what they're interested in.

In addition, I don't really see how spending hours watching a tv is any more beneficial than spending hours browsing websites on an iPad. Sure, if you're watching a documentary or the news, it's beneficial, but you could just as easily get the same video footage over the internet. Likewise, both tv shows and the iPad can have equally non-educational uses.

And isn't the point of an entertainment system to entertain, not to enlighten?

What I never got was how teachers, those who cultivate our youth and prepare our future, get paid almost nothing. In comparison, star athletes and actors get paid millions. I get that they have talent, are heroes for our youth (I really don't buy that one), have to spend lots of time and effort practicing, etc etc. But seriously, teachers have to do so much more and have such a greater impact; it's wrong for them to be paid so little.

Unfortunately, most people are willing to make a short-term investment of $40 to see a baseball game, and most people don't feel inclined to donate money to schools. Thus, huge athlete salaries are supportable, while similar salaries for teachers are not. Or at least that's what I've been able to draw from the situation.

The straw dispensers at our school always accidentally give more than one straw. I'm always afraid that someone might have "done something" to them, or sneezed on them, or something. I know it's a waste, but I'd rather be on the safe side and waste a couple straws (even though the probability of something bad like that happening is slim)

Same. I think I got sand in my speaker or something, because I used to hear just fine. Now I constantly need people to repeat what they just said. Texting is much clearer, and you can go back to it ("Where were we meeting again? Right, side entrance to Phys/Chem at 2:30")

I remember we used to have a Furby. Still have it, in fact.

The first time my mom took out the batteries (because it would NOT shut up) I started crying because I thought it could actually feel pain. It was screaming "Hey!! No! No!! NO!! NO!!!" It was fairly traumatic, as a kid.

I also remember having a tamagotchi. One day I lost it, and was afraid it was going to die. I was so happy when I found it that I started crying.

I think I might have bonded a little too tightly to some of my toys as a kid...

Much as with Venus prior to the Space Age, the dense, opaque atmosphere prevented understanding of Titan's surface until new information accumulated with the arrival of the Cassini–Huygens mission in 2004, including the discovery of liquid hydrocarbon lakes in the satellite's polar regions. These are the only large, stable bodies of surface liquid known to exist anywhere other than Earth. The surface is geologically young; although mountains and several possible cryovolcanoes have been discovered, it is smooth and few impact craters have been discovered.

The atmosphere of Titan is largely composed of nitrogen; minor components lead to the formation of methane and ethane clouds and nitrogen-rich organic smog. The climate—including wind and rain—creates surface features similar to those of Earth, such as sand dunes and shorelines, and, like on Earth, is dominated by seasonal weather patterns. With its liquids (both surface and subsurface) and robust nitrogen atmosphere, Titan is viewed as analogous to the early Earth, although at a much lower temperature. The satellite has thus been cited as a possible host for microbial extraterrestrial life or, at least, as a prebiotic environment rich in complex organic chemistry. Researchers have suggested a possible underground liquid ocean might serve as a biotic environment

I remember some sort of documentary on this...

40? That's absolutely crazy. That has to be a record for most tornadoes in one day.

The most I've ever heard before this was 8. I could be wrong though.

Natural disasters are become more... disastrous... of late. Hurricanes, earthquakes, and tornadoes, oh my!

Centipedes, spiders with big bodies, and spider nests/swarms are basically the only bugs that I've had problems with. Oh, and if there's a big enough spider hanging from the ceiling, no matter what size the body is, I flip out. Especially this one time, when I was walking into a room in the dark and... yeah. Nothing says "HOLY FREAKING CRAP" like me when I get a face full of dangling spider

But I'm ok with daddy longlegs/ millipedes/ flying insects; pests are, of course, not welcome (mosquitoes, termites, etc)

Welcome, have fun, and don't do anything (too) stupid.

I think you'll make a fine Juler. Especially since you've already poked around here and there, it seems.

My cat. I want my cat back. Anything. I'd give almost anything to have him back.

I try to tell myself that the three years he lived were good ones, but I still miss him. He was such a goofy, stupid cat. We'd call him "kiddiot ([ki]tty + i[diot])" on a daily basis.

At least we still have his sister. I hope she doesn't have a sense of family, so that she doesn't grieve. I know that sounds silly, but I'm just a mess right now.

Stupid car... I know the person feels awful. At least they let our neighbor know, and he took the body off the streets so it wouldn't get pancaked to the road.

I want my cat back, even though I know it'll never happen. Same thing for my dog.
