Depends on the type of alone. There's "lonely" alone, and then there's "I-need-my-space" alone. There are a couple of others too, and some are mixes of others.
Normally, when there's no one else around, I feel peaceful. Kinda like "No one is bugging me, I have no obligations to anyone at this point in time." If someone walks in, I sometimes feel obligated to say hi. Depending on my mood, I'll get annoyed if they take that as a cue to start gossiping about how X and Y did Z over the weekend.
Originally posted by MilesHayashiFew weeks ago, I was reading some harry potter books, though I stopped at the beginning of the 4th book, I'm dieing to finish reading the first six of those books so I can read the final book before the final harry potter movie is released.
Other books I read are goosebumps and animorphs books as a child and I have read the first four Twilight book, yes the twinight books that have Isabella and Edward.
As a kid I read nothing but Animorphs and Goosebumps. And the Redwall series.
Later on, I got into Tamora Pierce's books. I lived, ate, and breathed books.
Now, if I read something, it will most likely be manga. No "real" books for me.
Originally posted by DelpoloI hear there's another book like that, a title with a year number only, but I haven't really checked that one out yet.
Please tell me you did that on purpose, and are therefore extremely witty and awesome. And if you didn't, just pretend you did and that you know what I'm talking about.
I love cheesecake. And chocolate cake. And cookies, ice cream, donuts, chocolate covered pretzels, gummi worms, pies, pudding, almost all Japanese candy (even if I don't really know what I'm eating), brownies, flan, frosting straight from the can [continues listing indefinitely]
So what are some of your favorite desserts? And do you have any suggestions that I can try? I'm always up for new things, and I feel like being adventurous.
Originally posted by MilesHayashiMy favourite dessert happens to be a simple fruit that I like to call 'strawberries', and yes I eat them whole without taking off the leaves, but I do also like other stuff too.
Ah! Yes, right. Fruits! Nature's little sugary goodies *notes down various fruits*

Agreed. Especially some triple layer chocolate cake thing I got there once. It was nearly a foot tall, and ridiculously rich. We got it to go, and not even four of us were able to eat so much as half of it.
I'll have to try that Reese's Cup Ice Cream at some point. Sound good!

Would this happen to be "Linda's fudge cake" by any chance? My dad got that one time in memory of my late mom (her name was Linda) and boy was he surprised! What was even more shocking though is that he ate the whole thing by himself! Well, not too shocking, as he's kind of known for being able to put it away, at least when it comes to chocolate and pizza. But still, he was supposed to be on a diet.
Possibly. I forget at this point in time. It was a couple of years ago at this point. All I remember was that it was delicious and that it lasted DAYS!
Originally posted by SankyI don't really like desserts/sweet things either. I do like (plain!) vanilla ice cream, though.
Also, I hate chocolate. When I was little, I used to spit it (my parents say that. I don't remember myself.) and I don't like the taste today either. Everyone says I'm weird!
Whenever there's an ice cream bar, and I get to choose what toppings I want, I almost always get EVERYTHING. And then it's nothing but a blob of sugar in a bowl, which is not too appetizing. I've started just limiting myself to one thing, or just plain ice cream. Otherwise, all the toppings are overwhelming and don't taste good together.
About the chocolate thing: my sister and I are polar opposites. I love love love LOVE chocolate, even just the semi-sweet baking chocolate squares. Not the optimal choice for chocolate, but if there's an emergency, they do the job. My sister, on the other hand, only eats white chocolate, and it has to be flavored too. Raspberry, mint, orange, something like that. I love those too, but sometimes I just need to chomp on crisp dark chocolate.
Originally posted by OrlanduI forgot to mention that after the 4th Harry Potter movie, I read all the books up the the 6th one (7th wasn't out yet) in about 3 months. Those aren't short books either. And I've read through the LotR trilogy not just once, but twice so far. Planning on it again soon, after I finish the Magician series.
I read the entirety of Twilight in 7 hours. Straight.
Had it been a normal book, I would have liked it. But with all the hype and such, I was expecting a little more than what I got. Not to mention that the movie didn't do it any justice.
I read New Moon for the heck of it. I haven't seen the movie, and I'm not planning on it.
I have two cats, both black. They're from the same litter, but completely opposite types. One thinks it's a dog, and wants to play with them, sleep with them, wrestle with them... The other one flips out a lot. Not at everything, but it's enough for us to call her a scaredy cat.
I used to have a dog If there's a heaven for dogs, she's definitely there.

In that case... cake, ice cream, lemon meringue or chocolate cream pie, strawberries with sour cream and brown sugar (YUM YUM YUM), chocolate mousse, banana bread, any pudding...
Hard to go wrong with dessert.
Sour cream on strawberries? Not whipped cream?
Interesting... I'll have to try that...
It'll probably taste better than Fluff or Nutella on broccoli. That's the only way I would eat broccoli as a kid.
It takes 15 minutes of speed-walking to get from one side of campus to the other, which if I decide to go to my classes over there means at least half an hour. Normally when I'm coming back, I'm going uphill and not rushing, so it can take upwards of 25 minutes.
I also normally take the stairs, especially since I once raced the elevator and won I think they make it go extra slow on purpose...
For me, most wait times are one extreme or the other: either I get it in a fraction of the time they said it would take, or it takes forever. Usually there is some problem that came up, but they decided to not tell me.
When I worked at Dunkin Donuts and got lots of change for tips, I would drop it in a big bucket just inside our front door after work. Every so often I'd take it down to the bank (which counted it for free).
We would joke that if a robber ever came into the house, they would try to steal the bucket (it was in plain sight), but would then break their backs trying to run off with it. It would get flipping heavy!
Now though, I keep change in my wallet, and I normally know about how much something is going to cost. I start fishing the change out BEFORE I get to the register, so I don't hold up the line. I hate it when people do that
