As for the fishing: I have no idea what there is to catch nor have I ever caught anything before. My dad says the fish there are huge and fishing's good, so I'm gonna borrow some fishing gear from my family and catch me some damn fish!

I wish you luck

I agree, I would like to see more diversity in concept.
I dont know if you would consider zelda adventure or action RPG?

yes, its definately not gannon. theres not even any moblins, bublin archers, tektite, toadpoli, or duku toads. not even a single Monkey Chum! basically fthe only re-occuring enemy I saw was a dekubob.

I am currently working on creating, rigging, and animating, characters from fire emblem. starting with marth. (not like it would ever happen) but I think it would be a neat concept for a wii game. Fire emblem was originally a strategy game where you controll and command your soldiers. A remake I would make would be an action RPG similar to Legend of Zelda Where you play as Marth in 3rd person with completely different plot than the original fire emblem.

*those of you who are interested in 3d modeling, should I make a thread where we can we can discuss this in detail and maybe join forces? lol*
get back to me as soon as possible

The timeline split is obvious if you pay attention to the end of OOT. Miyamoto and Aonuma both later confirm it's true. Both also confirmed that there is indeed a timeline that they've been following (they just decided to throw different parts of the story in a bizarre order)

The split, very summarized, goes like this:
Adult timeline: Link defeats Ganon and seals him in the Sacred Realm with the aid of the sages, Zelda sends him back in time and thus, he disappears completely. Ganon breaks the seal and the people expect The Hero of Time to save them again, but he doesn't show up (he disappeared after Zelda sent him back in time) and they start praying to the gods and then the events of Wind Waker happen.
Child timeline: Link is sent back in time, and goes to Zelda (seen in the very end of the game) to inform her of Ganon's plans and the king prepares for this, the sages somehow ended up sealing him in the Twilight Realm and the events of Majora's Mask (same Link), and Twilight Princess (different Link) take place. (I'm not 100% sure on this one, I only played TP once and I've forgotten a lot!)

So, games that mention a Hero of Time should go in the adult timeline, whereas those that don't either go before OOT or in the child timeline.

thats a believable theory, considering that both OOT and TP speak of an ancient hero who disposed of the evil in hyrule and then disappear, I always thought the Hero's Shade from TP was the spirit of that Ancient Hero

Pretty self explanitory right? Discuss your 3d modeling projects, post screenshots

My previous thread titled: Summer Vacation 2010, had a small discussion about 3d modeling, so I thought those of you who took part in that discussion, or anybody who has interest in 3d modeling could come to this thread to discuss thier projects.

Of course, 3D modeling isn't for everyone. I certainly prefer spriting than trying to create polygons from scratch.

how would you go about... say, ripping a model from sm64, because that would be very useful for a project im working on

Near the end of the summer my mother and I are going to climb all 9,500 foot of Mt. McLoughlin, near where we live. Neither of us were in the best of health when we started training for it over a year ago; I was overweight, and she'd smoked for 30 years. We've both come a long way in that time. She made the climb with her sister when she was 12, it'd be nice to see if we can manage it.

I've got *checks calendar* 61 more days of that.

On a better note, I'm also ordering a few hundred vuvuzelas for the sophomore class for next year.

Shit, they are lucky you didnt catch them. you can shake up my house but as soon you touch a single console of mine, you better FUCKING NEVER GO TO SLEEP BECAUSE I WILL MURDER YOU WITH A TOOTHPICK!! And anyway, old nintendo consoles are pretty hard to find. there are websites where you can order repros but its not the same...

Sadly I can't find any of my old work, but by the second year we had made some decent stuff that probably could've been UT maps (we were supposed to actually do that, but our teacher never did anything about it) and we ended up making some pretty good models that probably could've been in HL2 or something. We took embarrassingly awesome pictures of ourselves in class for the textures, haha. This was my least favorite part of design though, from the texturing, boning the skeleton... WAY too much patience needed for characters. I just enjoyed making levels and environments. Though making objects (items and weapons mainly) and texturing them was kind of fun too.

I probably could've gotten a head start into game design but I decided I didn't want my #1 hobby to be turned into a chore (at least how I felt personally). That, or I just didn't have the patience for it, but I'd like to brush up on my skills again and maybe do some stuff for fun here and there someday.

Our school was total bullshit about the program though. Audio/Video Production and Aerospace Engineering were obviously 50x more important, we were just "goofing around and playing games". Our teacher left anyways, so it probably sucks ass nowadays.

I wish our school did something similar to that, our school doesnt really have "a lot" of money. All we have access to is Windows xp office edition. I dont really have a "powerful Stack" at home either, a decent laptop with windows 7 though. So I just try teaching myself the best I can by expierimenting and watching tutorials on YouTube...

The table summary attribute should be used to describe
the table structure. It is very helpful for people using
non-visual browsers. The scope and headers attributes for
table cells are useful for specifying which headers apply
to each table cell, enabling non-visual browsers to provide
a meaningful context for each cell.

The alt attribute should be used to give a short description
of an image; longer descriptions should be given with the
longdesc attribute which takes a URL linked to the description.
These measures are needed for people using non-graphical browsers.

see http://www.w3.org/WAI/GL.

service for checking URLs for accessibility.

You are recommended to use CSS to specify the font and
properties such as its size and color. This will reduce
the size of HTML files and make them easier to maintain
compared with using <FONT> elements.

You are recommended to use CSS to control line wrapping.
Use "white-space: nowrap" to inhibit wrapping in place
of inserting <NOBR>...</NOBR> into the markup.
