These unused Kanji are found in a font used by the old men in Black Tiger. The old men give you items or provide hints when you rescue them.

Found this image in Hyper Sports. In that game, during the triple jump event, if the player does the three jumps at 35°, 41°, and 45°, a ship will fly across the screen with a 3000 point banner. This is the same ship with a different, unused message in katakana:

| Hot damn! The unused Shang Tsung / Goro fatalities from MK1 were the main reasons why I wanted to crack open the game's graphics banks in the first place. Also, confirmation that most of the new stuff in MKT was just dummied out from the original games. ____________________ |

Just checking this book title in the Japanese Shining Force II...in the April prototype draft it's "SEGA GUIDE", then it changed to "SCIENCE 101". I think that the Japanese book is something about mutating turtles, but I could be way off. I see the word mutation in there though.
