As for president, there is no files, so they might did stop developing those images.
I think these would be icons that would change in the health meter:
The images that are used in the bottom corner, are in the same order of the unused... Strange
Those images are used on the Two Player Battle menu screen depending on which player is winning / losing

The katakana on the first object says "Raburii Yuuri", or Lovely Yuuri, though that help me identify what the hell that is.
By the way, don't google "Lovely Yuuri" in a work-safe environment.

This should be fixed now.
Unfortunately, a few edits in a small timespan were deleted (not related to this fix). Nothing major, except that one of Pikmin 2 Demo subsections no longer exists. wah
