For a little while, I'd been screwing around with a fairly incomplete list from a Pro Action Replay code in SNES9x of various areas from an area modifier code. For a short time too, GoldS joined in on it a little. We found a couple of unused areas, but we haven't tested all the digits. That, and this list is kind of inaccurate and incomplete. If anyone would like to further join me on this escapade, the Excel file is here: download I haven't touched this for a long while, but I'd like to go back to it, preferably with getting accurate level names and places. Also, there's a bunch of unused graphics too that I think are posted on DKC Atlas that I've read over a few times. Makes me wonder if any more exist. --------------------

I randomly won a set of 500 business cards from Staples one time. Sadly, the message board that I got them for is now defunct. Ah well. --------------------

So, I'm spending my fourth summer as a staff for the very, very awesome Upward Bound program at the University of Maine. I'm going to be teaching English and Creative Writing there. I'm really excited, but I'm getting a bit nervous as well. I've taught Creative Writing before, but never an English class, so I'm not sure exactly how it's going to go. Staff training begins Monday, and then Saturday the students come. Wish me luck! --------------------

I was just kinda curious if anyone keeps up with the show at all. Why such a random question about a random show from me that I wouldn't expect you guys to watch? Well, I've never said exactly where I'm from. Soooooo, I can say now that those guys are local celebrities now that the show has been around. Get it yet? ![]() --------------------

I'm not bothering to watch the World Cup, but it has nothing to do with my nationality. On a different note, soccer hooligans fuck everything up every time. It's a wonder they still have live audiences sometimes. --------------------

I've seen a few episodes, but I'd hate to be needing to get to my destination in a hurry with the looming threat of being dumped out of the cab midway through. I'd beg for mercy on that one. --------------------

Yeah, that's pretty much my hometown for you. I never exactly said that Maine was interesting, you know. :P My town's about as interesting as a brick unless you're interested in history or the outdoors or shit like that. --------------------

This thread is kind of like what you'd normally do in an English literature class; talk about it. However, there's a twist. I'm really teaching an English class for the next five or six weeks, so I figured it'd be interesting to have little discussions on Jul here about the short stories I'm having my students go over about when I assign the readings to the students. While suggestions for my curriculum are appreciated, I already have things planned the way I want them, so no changes will be made. The first story is An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge by Ambrose Bierce: http://www.mendosa.com/occurence.htm Additionally, this story was also made into a Twilight Zone episode back in the 60s. The video can be found on YouTube in three parts: Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 So, yes. Discussion! And it doesn't have to be literary here unless you want to make it literary. --------------------
