Machinae Supremacy - Overworld.
While that album seemed to have changed the style more into metal direction unlike (progressive) rock before, and having no real killer hit like "Through the looking glass" (sic!) from their last album Redeemer (which otherwise only held two other good songs, sadly), after hearing it the second time it still is decent enough to hear.
The best tracks are "Overworld", "Pearl and Edge", "Radio Future" and "Truth of Tomorrow", though.

Actually the hardware supports Vista (click on 'Specs'), whereas I don't know if Vista was supported natively or that entry was just put in later, like when a newer driver was added to your W-LAN adapter. Could it be a newer model/version on that site I linked?
Anyay, you always could try to contact your manufacturer via e-mail; include the KB-number of that particular Windows-patch, which you think it ruined your driver/router.
Besides, I don't think Windows Update trashed that driver particularly, maybe your Windows installation had an error, where updating and rebooting just caused that effect. Single KB _can_ be uninstalled (reversing the Windows Update) in the Software Remove option inside the Control Panel, though, but I don't recommend playing too much with this.
I let Windows download and install those updates automatically and it never caused me any trouble (also working with a limited account most of the time) ... |

Aside from the warning I would never change anything important I am not really sure about it. This includes fiddling around with vital Registry keys, as that particular example really can screw up your Windows installation (like you said).
Since many magazines advertize with slogans like "Improve your computer's speed by xxx % with 'hidden' Windows tweaks!" and colourful images, many people who don't know just will try out these "tips" - and probably will be screwed up if something goes wrong.
Similar like beta software NEVER should go onto a system used for work, I strongly advise to backup at least the most important data and/or system partition data with an imaging program like TrueImage and the like ... |

Exactly
Otherwise, working on a limited account should make a big deal - since you cannot change any critical entrys (such as regedit or deleting important system files). I work with one since about two weeks, and have no major problems with it: For installing programs I quickly swith to the admin one, and it's done. Also at least a virus cannot destroy vital data that fast ...
As for that entry - like in that thread, it is not possible to steer Windows to not use the page file (even if 2 GB+ of RAM is installed), but without it some programs might not work as well.
Investing in more RAM and throwing out resoure-eating software (McAfee and Norton *cough*) helps a lot. |

Actually it is very interesting how short those tracks look from the top-down view. In the game they seems very large and long (especially the road width) - due to Mode 7 resizing this is nothing special. Just stop on a jump plate, you will see the distortion/proportion (the car seems tiny, when it is parked on it), unlike you drive at normal and use the plates. This seems also present in current racing games. On one racer on PS3 (forgot the name, something with Forza in the name?), when you are about to outpace an enemy car slowly, the perpective gets really weird, just before the opponent is out of the screen. Especially seen on the front tires.
As for that editor, it really kicks ass, from what you show in these pictures. I would love to edit my own courses too. Along with BGNG's GuyPerfect's existing (and the coming revamped/reprogrammed) F-Zero X editor we will have two very powerful tools in future |

RAR, although I know that 7zip has better compression rates. On the other hand does saving 20 MB in a 200 MB file for me (when downloading) doesn't make too much difference, when it comes to the internet connection/speed nowadays.
Otherwise, when I am uploading, I'll take these 20 MB in account, as my upload speed is limited (don't upload stuff too often anyway, even when I have access to higher speeds) - if my recipient for example doesn't have 7zip then and that archive is smaller than one from WinRAR, then I'll simply make it a self-extracting archive.
As for KGB, it probably has the best compression rate ever (requiring a very good machine, and the program still is beta software) - if you disregard neat tricks like Decompression Bombs, a well known file is 42 KB compressed - but when trying to extract it, it grows up to 4 Petabyte |

Depends on the people I talk to and, when I'm calling, if I am using my cell phone (expensive) or my wired phone at home - flatrates are the win.
Anything between thirty seconds and up to about 1,5 hours is possible.
Skype is another story. It is easy, fun and both hands are free, where the counter easily can rack up up to 3-4 hours (playing HoMM III via Hamachi is fun). The drawback is the wire from the headset - and I won't buy a wireless one just for Skype. |

Originally posted by Tanks I really enjoyed this game alot, but I never completed it. I believe I did get most of the balls though. The one ball that sticks out the most is the glass ball. *BOUNCE* *BOUNCE* *SMASH*
That part in the underground using the glass ball was one of my favourite moments in the game, although it was not an easy part (at least for me). I just finished that game (and somehow need to figure out how to unlock the secrets now - want it to try on my own first), the level design was done very good in many places.
I have to agree with Flonne, it was way too short - but very completeable without a walkthrough. Only at that part passing trying to pass the tiger, obviously really easy if you just listen, there I needed some help outside of the game ...
Nevertheless it is one of the best indie game I played, ever. Especially with that wonderful ambient and fitting music. |

Originally posted by Flonne Oh, I forgot to mention: JoyToKey (or any keyboard-to-joystick mapping software) is your best friend in this game. It is SO much easier to play with a good gamepad.
Although I am very bad in games using the keyboard (a reason I cannot play thingies like Panel de Pon without a keyboard), I have to admit that this game worked very, very well using it.
The game usually is very challenging at the first time in certain parts, but since you never need to do things in time - like crossing certain parts in SMW within a limited amount of time, e. g. during an active P-switch - and usually don't need to press more than two keys simultaneously, it worked pretty good for me.
On the other hand, if I mapped the keys to my gamepad buttons in JoyToKey (needed in older versions of Jet's 'n Guns as it didn't work properly with my Logitech Precision pad back then), I probably would be a lot better. But as stated, I found out the controls are pretty good for someone, who is very bad on the keyboard, when it comes to gaming.
I am also still very fond about the sound effect when a ball appears. |

Yes, it is something really important to 'broadcast' advertisements through the galaxy [...]
If there was technology to interact with people's dreams, then there would be advertisements for sure, like "This wet and hot dream was sponsored by Coca-Cola." |

Shortly before I ever beat Lufia II's Ancient Cave the first time, collected important items to face the boss. While advancing those dangerous Silver and Gold Dragons with caution in the 94th floor, my SNES froze in-battle - only the music continued.
That sucked really. Since you cannot save inside this dungeon, several hours of "work" were lost. At least I managed to finish it later and have beaten the boss - gladly it was the only time a game froze for me before. |

In some RPGs it only seems how certain stats are capped at maximum values like 99 (for some two-digit displays for example), but in reality the screen only shows 99, but technically they can go higher. Actually it seems weird how the developers include conditions like "If Agi_shown_on_screen > 99 then set agi_shown_on_screen=99" and seem to forget to include the same for the technical variable, but only for the number which is meant to be shown on-screen.
An example are Final Fantasy Legend I and II for GB (dunno about FFL III), where certain stats can go up to 255, but only show 99 in the menu screen. Going even higher causes the values to reset. Same with Lufia II. The Egg Ring increases all values except Guts BY 999 and not TO 999, because the status screen only shows 999 then.
Weird ist also the display of more-digit values for items you can only use a very limited number of time. See the Mike ability in Kirby's Adventure, it shows "x 03" - but actually you will never have more than those three uses, although there are two digits - except if you use that known glitch to give it a lot of uses (only works when fighting the second boss and is gone once the game is shut off or reset, though) |

Everything is a matter of taste. Forums just provide another means of communication, but do not need to replace something else instead (if you're watching the brand-new thrilling movie in that comfortable cinema seat, while eating popcorn, you wanna move your elbow to your partner and say something like "Cool!" - instead of watching the movie on a computer and sending an ICQ message to your friend).
It might true that younger people join the internet - and participate in social life that way too. An old geezer might have problems with that fast-changing life while others simply adapt to it and utilize the advantages of our life, centered in information (and disadvantages - see cell phones: Availability everywhere and -time, unless you turn that damn thing off).
I see now problem with older people. It doesn't concern me if someone is like 35 and posts in a PKMN-forum or something ... see, I'm 27 years old, I know about Lunar Magic - but even people who know that never said something. Or do you HAVE to be that person, who has to play first person shooters or has to leave the forum when their age exceed 25 years?
As we grow and gain experience in life, we also change some attitudes. When I got my first own computer back in 2001, I already was late, knowing people had computers and the internet long back before (only knew the some basic DOS commands and such before), but my personal taste is about disliking something on the web, I simply ignore it and never open that page again. |

Don't have a Wii, but that game sounds really nice. Gotta love the classic Mega Man sprite with his typical involuted arm while he is shooting.
Gotta love the music, especially from Mega Man 3 (Wily Stage 2, nearly all of the regular stages' themes).
Gotta love the gameplay with its challenging bosses in the classic series. While the other series aren't that wrong (except Mega Man 8 and the very last Xs, which seem just like extended graphic demos, sequences with some battles *cough*), and in the classic series the blue bumber can neither dash forward, stop in mid-air nor does have an "evil gaze" in his eyes; or a dark theme in general, I still prefer the original series. Classic gameplay from the 80s and 90s!
The only thing they could mess up, I think, is the sound. They confirmed using 8-bit tunes, but even if not ... I will not set the standards too high, although my expectations are, unwillingly. |

Mushihimesama has a 1x1 pixel hitbox for the player, while Touhou has one around 5x5 pixels (it turns visible by holding the slowdown button in-game). That doesn't mean I think MS is easy. In fact, I like Touhou 8 and 10 (but nothing else in that department, although I'm getting my Japan Studies bachelor degree the following semester - not everyone studying something like this is too deep into anime and mange only ), but in TH10 I never beat the game on "Normal" without using at least 2-3 continues, and in TH8 I at least beat the game on Normal and unlocked the Extra Stage.
But this on the screen is probably ... holy crap, for a casual gamer like me something I will never achieve.
Try to play this on an old 15" CRT - it seems impossible although my secondary computer runs on an 14" (!) with its maximum possible resolution of 800 x 600. Touhou - Mountain of Faith even is playable, but Mushihimesama probably won't be playable, on this 19" CRT it is another story |

Buy the cheapest MP3 player*, exchange the supplied headphones for some better ones (even the simple ~10$ ones from Sony are much better than the supplied, which usually have horrid bass, which came with the inexpensive devices) and money is no major problem.
*Depending on the number of available space of course. Some offers simply are rip-offs.
For me:
I rarely buy CDs or download it (il)legally, I heavily rely on radio, sometimes record/rip my own tracks out, thanks to Audacity and turned-off system sounds. A CD may be not be a practical medium, to use for music, now, but a sparkling disc with some nice patterns on it, along with a good booklet is more interesting to put into the shelf than plain file names on a hard drive. The real problem, however is the incosistency between prices for CDs and music in MP3 format via the internet. I neither want to buy an album where only four out of ten track are pleasing me for the full price, on the other hand some downloads are as expensive as the physical CD in your store.
On the other hand I currently have no CD player, as the constant changing of disks along with stuttering, if you are running outside for example, can be annoying at times. |

The best game in visuals for the Wii currently seems to be Super Mario Galaxy for me.
Everything fits how it should, and although the video above looks amazing for Wii specifications, this alone won't guarantee a high rating, if this indeed would just resemble a 08/15 shooter with no real innovations, like in Goldeneye 007, Deus Ex and others.
Sadly not every game in this department is like Donkey Kong Country - which visually opened up a new dimension of graphics (not only) on the SNES, but also held a lot of innovations in game play (ESPECIALLY Diddy's Kong Quest).

This tiny game is awesome.
Not only the music is very catchy, the whole presentation was out crafted nice. I like these pixel explosion effects, that thing looks really good. Although I still suck, on the first attempt scored an 18 hit combo only.
Thinking how a tiny 40KB of a self-made game/ROM today can be pure fun ...
Cool.
