It feels like this would definitely fit in the scope of the wiki, but yeah, quality will have focal point. Part of it is will be what gets pointed out.

For example, the first video we got of New Super Mario Bros. featured what was obviously a demo stage to show off Mario's moves. Clearly, it was never meant to be in the game, so there's no point in mapping it out, listing enemy locations. And yes, it was early in development, so the sounds weren't even done yet, so there's not much point in focusing on the fact it uses SM64 sound effects as placeholders.

However, what would be worth pointing out is how radically different the art style is, for one. Everything has a sort of artsy, soft look to it with thick outlines reminiscent of Yoshi's Island. You could also point out how the design of the environment is much different, too, with a swampy kind of grass floor, lots of round trees and rocks, and even an entire night-time town background.

And then, the new Street Pass Plaza games came to the US! And with it, a spiffy new update to the plaza!

Aside from the completely new fountainy area for the games, you'll also notice that the Miis animate smoother in the main area, and also your streetpass count for people can now finally rise above 99. Woo!

Also the salesbunnies are adorable.

I think I know what you mean. As it is, we cover a very specific, very interesting niche: content that was removed from the game but it still in the game data. And while content that was planned but scrapped seems like it would fit within the scope of the wiki, things like "look at this thing in this screenshot" would undoubtedly drown out what makes the site unique. Sites like Super Mario Wiki already document a lot of the pre-release screen stuff as it is. While I think it might be a good idea to have a site dedicated to researching that sort of thing, I now think it might be best as a sort of spin-off site.

Since it seems you missed my answer the first time, here it is again, in condensed form:

-All the props for every room can be found in their directories.
-Every location has a "mapcommon" folder that contains various props for the particular room.
-The placeholder textures are located somewhere that I can't find. Just use Dolphin to rip them.
-The UVs for the models are fine, it's just that the textures aren't there.

In the future, consider trying things. Open models until you find the one you want. Apply textures to the models and see if they work.

How long has it been... six weeks!?

I'm really sorry about the huge gap. I got sick a few weeks ago (and still am) and it's really thrown me off. I'll try and make more when I can, but until I feel better, there's no telling how long it will be. Only reason I made this one today is because I wanted to get my mind off feeling lousy (I've been feeling worse today than most of the past few weeks) and I had it written up already. Hopefully, the next one will come soonish!

Even though you insulted Ikachan, I'm still going to help you. The model you're looking for is biadoor. It is one of the first few models in the first episode. If you looked at that model before, you might not have recognized it because the game stretches it a bit.

Next time, though, try being patient, at attempt at least some of this on your own. In the time it took you to post your question in the first place, you could have already found the model on your own, imported it, and applied textures to it to see if it works.

Does anybody know Tetris Attack (SNES, Yoshified Panel de Pon) well enough to say whether or not it's possible to create a gray [!] garbage block large enough to show a face in the center? Like, a Shy-Guy sort of face? Also if there are any garbage blocks that use a mix of the usual craters and the bumps used on the gray ones? I can't say I've ever been good enough to find out on my own.

I know some people have looked into the sequenced music format it uses, but I don't think anything solid has really come from it. However, somebody must have, because VGMusic has at least one, if not two, perfect midis from the game, including Bianco Hills. The only reason I suspect that it might be a rip is that the Delfino Plaza midi is almost exactly the same as the one used in Super Mario 64 DS, but was made August 2002.

Even if the Bianco Hills midi isn't a perfect rip, though, it's so spot-on that nobody will notice otherwise.

Would it also be worth mentioning it also has 5 tiles of a little bird thing from Panel de Pon? Not even enough to make a single full sprite.

Edit: Oh, those same five bird tiles are also in Panel de Pon... Hmm...

Edit: I don't recognize the bird, and the tiles only show up when doing the Control Tutorials. I'm guessing they are from the ending? Let me check.

Well of course it's not going to sound the same. It's a MIDI. Even if you ripped the notes from the game directly, you'd still end up with a MIDI. You'll have to rip the instruments from Sunshine, or find someone else who has ripped them.

My house has barely come along since I've spent so much of my resources on the town itself. I'm still using the default floor.
