[quotel]:O
That would be amazing if you can figure out how to control that! One idea I've had for a long time for a Mario hack would be to make sort of a metroidvania level design (obviously without the powerup keylock idea).. this hack idea would probably work better in SMW tho..
I have tried to mess with the numbers but it seems to be random.
Also I only go to W1-1 if both start and midway entrance is set to the same ID and the midway entrance is near the door,
I have tried to move the midway to the start but the it does not work. (the door take you the a pipe exit near the midway point).
Trying to adjust, same setting for door and path - just moved the door and path. Now I go to W1-2 area 2... |

More black screen.
I have made a W1 castle and it works perfect in DESmuME 0.9. However on my DSi it goes black.
- There is no sprite zero (I have used the sprite finder/count).
- There is no sprite set selected with unused sprites.
- There are no bosses except for bowser in the unchanged area3.
- The background/tileset has not been changed.
I do use a lot of objects and sprites by not more then on other levels.
Any other issues I should look at?

If you go trough a door or pipe (not connected pipe) from one place to another in the same view the magic happen.
I am going to use it as a speciel feature in a level. If you go to an other area the lava will kill you again.

Seems the sprites has to be real close. If a bit out of the screen it disappears.
Still I have a hidden button on screen with the activator button still it does not work. I try to make them closer. |

Thanks, I liked it so much I have skiped the levels between the tower and castle and have now finished the castle with a even larger machine.
Thats actually two machines... One you need to control to prevent the springboard ending in lava....

Strange about the startcoins and springboard machine. My org ROM i a (E).
Just tried to patch a (U). In the castle machine the springboard stick to the block :-(
The star coin works. You might have a older patch from before I fixed a starcoin numbering error.
However the editor crashed patching - I pressed "continue" and it seems the patch was applied.
It must be due to the (E) version.
The giant springboard? - yes it sticks to walls, in the W1-1 water it even got stuck for me one time.

If I even more one block in W1-4 Area 2 or 3 I get black screen when I return.
Also W2-1 area 3 have given me trouble. Had to import a clean original level to make it work.
Remember only if you need a different tileset you need the other areas. If you can use same tileset just use more views insted.

If you want the red blocks to appear you need the 197 to timeout. |

Sorry.
Thanks. That a pity it was such an easy way to make/use a patch :-(
The "Export Level" make very small files. (but dont save tileset and other?)
I have tried to compare a modifyed rom with a org rom and see how much
different bytes there are. It is for my springboard mario 2.788.932 bytes. About the same size as the current patch file.
Guess we need to store these different bytes and where in the file to put them. Would that not be fairly easy to add
to the editor?

A working patch file is now to be found in the first post.
I used PPF as it seems to be used by other NSMB hacks also and a quick look at xdelta did not provide much usage informtion. |

Greate and hard levels!
Just a small notice:
I bring the springboard here: (dont know why...) and got stuck:
On this pipe you have not put the path correctly, thats why mario exit above the pipe:
The path should be placed like this: (and "unknown 6" have the value shown on the node).
How did you edit mario and the overworld?
