I have a 920 myself and I've mostly been too lazy to set up sensors... Need to recompile my kernel though anyway, so I don't get USB interrupts on the system log.

Not that expensive. It's just a mini-ATX machine that I run with the case open because it's think it's unfair to pay like $10 for case fans. Anyway, it has a Gigabyte P55 UD4 motherboard, some G.Skill Ripjaws RAM, and most importantly the Prolimatech Megahalems cooler. I got it to 205Mhz x 19 with 1.27V uncore and 1.26V core.

I recommend never using a cooler that doesn't require a backplate. The difference in pressure is huge, and if your cooler isn't mounted firmly, it doesn't matter how gigantic it is. This particular cooler has to be mounted somewhat diagonally using 2 holes for the 775 sockets and 2 for the 1366, but it fits like it was made for this 1156 socket. The included thermal grease works great, btw.

I don't particularly see how it could be much more explicit, and the other translations aren't exactly cryptic here either.

I dislike quoting the King James because sometimes it seems it's almost trying to cryptic on purpose. It's an old translation of a Latin translation, and I'm not saying that there's anything wrong with reading it, but I favor the NASB as an accurate modern-language translation referencing the original texts. So, without further adieu:

Yes, I just upgraded my GPU. The old one didn't overclock (it ran at 750/800, which I changed to 725/850 because it would actually overheat at full core speed) but the new card runs at 1050/1400.

Anyway, in case anyone could use it, I'd let go of it for $35. Send me a check once you're sure it's running, since I really wouldn't miss that much money and we should be able to trust each other, theoretically.

It's 512MB. If you're interested let me know. I'd put it in the 5770 box, since it's the exact same size.

EDIT:
Let's make this fun. If you have Pay-pal, instead of sending me money, you can just donate to Jul. It would almost double the amount on that bar down there, and leave me with nothing to worry about.

I get what you're saying. Obviously, they even had laws about what types of meat were acceptable and what were not.

We should be able to make the best possible decision, regardless of rules. But rules do help. For example, this morning we had a choice between protein/carbs/fat/not eating. I didn't pre-plan, but for people who strictly follow the plan of an expert dietitian, I can't say they're wrong. I still value rules, although I wish they weren't abused.

I don't see how even in an idealistic rule-free world, finding a partner of the same sex would be the optimal solution. Male minds and female minds do not think alike, not at all. This isn't even a sexual argument. If I was looking for someone to literally help me get through life, I couldn't count on another dude to do it.

As an aside...I'd encourage even straight people to be careful, and really search for the best solution, because relationships tend to all apart in 20xx.

Wait what? That if anything is sexist.

I can be "sexist", but not out of arrogance; out of science. Males and females behave differently from the moment they are born. It was once theorized that their differences came out of their treatment, i.e. giving girls dolls, and to boys, building blocks. However, a number of studies have been conducted proving differences in male/female activity before even the development of sex organs.

As far as real sexism is concerned, hey-- I think females can do anything males can do. I think it's completely awesome when I see stuff like female hackers.

Due to things such as the feminism movement, it wouldn't surprise me if all the PhD's just stopped publishing this kind of stuff. Science ftw.

Decent means 8"+ sub imho. I have the Logitech Z Cinema and it's a huge difference from my old 5" sub. And the USB cable won't wear out like the old connector did.

The USB bus. My old laptop couldn't power 4 gamepads and I would need a powered hub. Just for that?!? I turned off the wi-fi which was internally connected to USB and I could then game without random disconnects.

My desktop would have horribly slow wi-fi and would randomly drop the connection. I recently installed a PCI card instead, and my internet connection now feels like coming out of dial-up, and has never lost a connection; I mean, it's only from here to the garage.

Emphasis mine.

Isn't that the entire crux of this argument? The personal preference angle? I don't think that another man could help me through life on an intimate level, but I'm straight. A gay man, on the other hand, may think differently.

Pretty much; I do need females in my life, even all my female friends who remain entirely not interested in me. They're just different, and it'd be hard to exist without them. Or at least, hard for me. Obviously life is easier for a gay man, who doesn't have the same sort of need and can just act according to his preferences/feelings/attractions. I wonder where he gets that kind of freedom.

Personally, even if I stay single forever, I will always greatly appreciate all my female friends. To a certain extent, even something like being lesbian can't effect that; life kicks my ass, and my male friends kick my ass some more, but I can at least count on girls to just let me be me, when that's what I need.

I was super-happy to see some games accepting background input. Now I really can game and use the web on separate monitors without trouble.

Good point though; not every game is quite as configurable.

I like HQx filters, although they only look good in games that don't use 3d models (ie. NOT Donkey Kong Country!)
