If your system locale/"language for non-Unicode programs" is Japanese, just extract the game somewhere and double-click on ゲームスタート.

Otherwise, install Applocale (follow this guide if it doesn't work) and the patch. Extract the game somewhere, open up Game_Files, and put lawnchair.exe in there. Run AppLocale, and when it prompts you to choose a program, choose lawnchair.exe. In the Arguments box, type in "Game.exe" (without quotes).


You can also use lawnchair.exe with Yume Nikki, if you're not using an English translation.

The first source doesn't really explain much. The message is hidden within the fifth, tenth, and thirteenth character of each password, in order from chapter 1 to 5. The chapter 1 passwords are not accessible in-game, and were found through hex editing.

The second source is about messages that show up if you type in certain passwords. I might as well translate those as well.
